Salmon and Shrimp Cakes from Chef Bubba

Oh, bubba! These were so yummy!The only thing i changed was a rib of celery in place of the jalapeno....but man-oh-man were these good. Just one thing though..... 4 patties? I made 6 ENORMOUS patties (2-3 times the size of normal crab cakes) thanks for sharing them :-)

Baked Salmon II

wow, norma :-) this was really good. Just one thing... the garlic cloves that i used were rather big, and i didn't think to only use one :-) but my fiancee and i really enjoyed it. I even ate the leftovers for luch the next day!

Apple Loaf

Yum, yum, yum!!! this is a great bread! very moist, very tasty. Like others, i used 2+ cups of apple, and reduced the sugar, but the results were delicious! thank you, carol :-)

Caribbean Pasta with Shrimp

this is a GREAT! although, there is no way i could fit 1.5 pounds of shrimp in that sauce + the 8 oz. of pasta! we cut about each of those in half and it was incredible :=) *just be sure NOT let the shrimp overcook in the sauce. ours were borderline-chewy! Not so great. I will be making this again next week!!!

Dog Treats I

These smell soo good. I used the peanut butter version , and my hounddog went crazy :-)She couldn't wait for them to come out of the oven. Can't wait to try the beef and chicken flavors. thankyou for such a healthy dog snack!

Chocolate Cavity Maker Cake

this is JUST like the one my mom always made (but there's no liquer in our family recipe :-) instead of the oil and liquer, we use 1 cup milk and a 1/2 cup of sour cream. top it off with cool whip and shaved chocolate curls, and it is heaven :-)

Tomato Chicken Parmesan

this recipe is fabulous!!! although, i had to reduce the amount of bread crumbs and parmesan (i was only making enough for two, and the "division" didn't come out right, there was so much left over!!) I had to add some basil, oregano, garlic and onion to the sauce so it would really be Italian. AND we also were out of the m.j. cheese, so i shredded good ol' mozzerella on each breast before baking. My fiance was impressed at how JUICY the chicken was. No more take out for us :-) thanks, alicia

Fra Diavolo Sauce With Pasta

i am making this right now,AND WOW! it smells sooo good! we usually make the cajun seafood pasta (on this site, spicy, with a cream sauce) but this is going to be a nice change. the sauce is incredible, too!!! i used all of the red pepper, added some garlic, and for good measure threw in some sliced olives. very mediterranean :-) love it!!! * just be sure NOT to overcook the seafood for even a second! Chewy shrimp are not a good thing :-)

Firecracker Grilled Alaska Salmon

this is one fiery marinade :-) very, very good and full of flavor. Only gave it four stars b/c i didn't have any salmon in the fridge and had to use chicken and shrimp. But, OMG! it was still amazing :-) you won't be sorry!!!

Cappuccino in a Jar

This was pretty good :-)Its cheaper than buying the GFIC name brands, and if you buy flavored powdered creamers, all the better!! French vanilla, vanilla caramel, hazelnut :-) I keep a few jars around (they stay fresh for a long time if you keep them in the freezer) thankyou!!!

Banana Banana Bread

this bread is awesome! so moist, and full of flavor. I, too, added cinnamon, vanilla, and crushed walnuts to the batter, and it turned out beautifully! (the loaf COULD have been a little taller...)This recipe is here to stay :-)

Awesome Grilled Cheese Sandwiches

this is a great idea! And a tip for anyone who is left with soggy-bottom bread: elevate the sandwich OFF of the baking sheet. Slip you sandwich onto a cooling rack,and put the rack on the baking sheet. PRESTO! total-surface ventillation. thanks, michelle :-)

Deep-Fried Turkey

WOW! who knew you could FRY a turkey? i took the advice of others and bought an injector! believe me, its the best investment you could make... melted down some butter and mixed it with carribean jerk, parsley, onion powder, garlic powder, and white pepper....This was the JUICIEST bird i have ever eaten. And it cooks so fast :-) Try chicken, and cornish hens, too. i may never roast my poultry again.

Honey Glazed Ham

i made this ham for christmas day, and it was incredible. (i couldn't use the cloves because of the children, so we used pineapple rings studded with toothpicks) But the corn syrup and honey glaze, (mixed with brown sugar) was such a hit. It had so much flavor and the aroma was great! thanks colleen :-)

Delicious Ham and Potato Soup

i have to admit that i tinkered with this soup, but now this is my favorite winter-time meal. I used 3 cups potatoes, 1 1/2 cups ham, added 1/2 cup diced zucchini, 3 strips crumbled bacon, 1 cup cheddar cheese, 1 can cream of potato soup + 1 cup milk (omitted the flour) and 1 clove minced garlic. Bonus points if you make it the day before and refrigerate overnight. so thick, so hearty, (SO FATTY, but SO worth it!!!) thanks ellie :-)

this was fantastic! i also used apple cider instead of the juice, and cut back just a bit on the sugar. The color was rich and the smell intoxicating. Definitely a KEEPER :-)
