About this Cook
My favorite family cooking traditions
One of my favorite traditions is Saturday night suppers with family and friends. I love to try out new recipies, usually from this website.
My cooking tragedies
I once caused an oven fire on Thanksgiving Day while cooking a turkey in an oven bag. It was and extra large turkey, the oven bag filled with juices and flipped over the side of the roasting pan and burst letting juices run into the oven catching on fire. We had to put out the fire which was minor and clean the oven. We put the turkey back in minus the bag and continued to bake. Needless to say Thanksgiving dinner was delayed. The grandchildren named called it twice baked turkey which stuck and now every Thanksgiving I am always asked by the family if we are having " Twice baked turkey" for Thanksgiving!!

Triple Bypasses
I'm giving it a four -- good but not outstanding. I have to admit the men seemed to like them much better. Unique, I will possibly make again .

Fierro Chicken
Very Good! I used 1 whole can green enchilada sauce, a small can of mushrooms and light cream. The only thing I would change next time is to brown the chicken with a little garlic powder, salt and pepper.

Swiss Chicken Casserole II
Very good! Just be sure to use low sodium soup or it will be too salty.
