I'm a mom of two great kids, and married to a wonderful husband. I am happiest when I am in the kitchen or my garden.I work full time nights but always have sit down dinners everynight with the family- that's sooo important now these days....

Anything!! My specialty has to be desserts- my husband has a huge sweet tooth! Would really like to get into canning and preserving, something comforting about homemade...
My favorite family cooking traditions
Christmas! It's all about baking, baking and more baking! My daughter and I start baking around the beginning of December and continue to bake up-til Christmas eve! It feels good when friends come over just because they know where the "goods" are, and they always expect a holiday plate from me every year... :) Also anything dutch...I am dutch and passing on traditional recipes is so important, every year my daughter and I make dutch letters, stroopwaffles, banket and other goodies....as the dutch would say Eet Smakelijk! (eat well and with taste)
My cooking triumphs
Everytime I make anything, and seeing people enjoy it..makes me happy. Teaching my daughter to cook...she can now proudly make her own french toast in the mornings!! She is my cooking sidekick and is always hovering around the stove with me, I love knowing that our family recipes will be carried on.
My cooking tragedies
I was on Allrecipes to long and forgot something in the oven! Alot of SMOKE!This website can be addicting!
