About this Cook
I enjoy cooking. I love to try new dishes and always enjoy putting a new twist on an old favorite and making recipes healthier.
My favorite things to cook
My Italian ancestry and living with two great cooks, my mother and grandmother, has given me a knowledge of Italian cooking. Many of the recipes I grew up with have been modified to lower fat versions.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I enjoy cooking for the holidays and making the traditional recipes that I grew up with.
My cooking triumphs
Cooking has brought my daughter and I closer together. We work together to prepare both simple meals and traditional holiday feasts and to make gourmet chocolates.
My cooking tragedies
My worse tragedy happened when friends stopped in as I was heating up oil for Chinese egg rolls. While I was chatting with my guests, the smoke alarm went off and the flames in my pan were about a foot high.

Gourmet Sweet Potato Classic
I used about half the butter and half & half instead of heavy cream. My husband said it was the best part of Thanksgiving dinner.

Turkey Tetrazzini II
I made this recipe with chicken and added some buttered breadcrumb topping -- not much -- and it browned up nice & golden.. My husband and grandson loved it. Everyone had seconds. Very good dinner.

Mom's Barbeque Style Turkey
I used red bell pepper -- but otherwise did not change a thing. We really liked it -- maybe I'll try it with ground turkey or beef as a sloppy Joe.
