I am happily married with two children, who I can't get to try anything but pasta. I am an interior designer by trade and a wanna be chef at home. I LOVE entertaining. I have a nack of creating a meal that doesn't keep you in the kitchen from your guests. I think it comes from my younger years of working as a server and in the kitchen.
My favorite things to cook
I love to cook meals FOR a person. I really try to think about what the special guest would really love to eat and I work with that. My specialty is traditional Puerto Rican dishes and my famous ribs that I got off of the Oprah show with Quincy Jones. I really enjoy people enjoying what I have created for them. It makes me happy!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Puerto Rican pork shoulder, cheescake, sweet potatoes, apple pie, mashed potatoes, baklava, "white trash"
My cooking triumphs
My biggest triumph was my mother-in-law passing the torch for Thanksgiving dinner.
My cooking tragedies
Adding sugar to my famous rosemary potatoes instead of salt and actually drying out a precoooked ham...who does that?
