me and my kids
About this Cook
I'm 26 years old, a stay at home mom to Julianna who is 3 and Tobiah who is 14 months. I've been married for almost 7 years.
My favorite things to cook
I am a pizza fanatic so I love making anything that resembles a pizza. I also like to make up my own recipes and often try to recreate "hamburger helper" using my own ingredients instead of the box. We lived in japan for a couple years so we also like some japanese foods like white stew and curried rice.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I don't really have many cooking traditions but my daughter is now getting to the age where she can help me out in the kitchen quite a bit and she loves to take the chopped veggies off the cutting board and put into the pan for me. I'm sure as the kids grow older, we will develop our own little traditions.
My cooking triumphs
I like to make up some recipes and once made an exact replica of Olive garden's fettucine alfredo for some company and everyone raved at how good it was. I have never been able to recreate it though sadly..
My cooking tragedies
Once while making cookies I accidentally put baking soda in instead of baking powder and they all turned out bitter. Worse part was, my brother and his friends had been waiting for them to be done so they could have some and I didn't know I had made the mistake until after they all tried some.

Carrot Cake VI
Yuck! I made this for my 2 year old's birthday and I had to make another cake instead because this one turned out hard and tasted too much of baking soda...

Brazilian Black Bean Soup
Would have given this 5 stars but the recipe calls for WAY WAY too much salt. I would only use half of what's called for if that. I love this black bean soup otherwise. It's good with all the oj but looks better with half. With a dab of sour cream and salsa on top it's yummy!
