Best Big, Fat, Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookie

I made these exactly as stated and put the dough in the fridge to chill up the butter. These still spread pretty thin (no layers of chips). The next day they were very crispy. I even slightly underbaked the batches on purpose to try to avoid potential crispiness, but it didn't seem to matter. The one plus of this recipe was that it tasted great, but then again, I did use French butter and Ghirardelli chocolate chips and pure vanilla. Of course your end result will taste good if you use higher quality ingredients! :)

Espresso Bark

A great addition to the holiday treats, and a plus that it's so easy to make! It looks lovely and tastes great. I did crush the beans slightly, then sifted out the smallest bits so I wouldn't have grit in the candy.

Ice Cream Sandwich Desserts

It was a fun, summer dessert, but I think perhaps I've moved beyond putting pre-made items along with pre-made sauce in a pan. I like the idea, it looked nice, but it was just lacking a bit. For what it is, it's fine, but due to the pre-packaged taste, it's not something I'd make again.

Candy Apple Jelly

I haven't made jelly since I was a child and I was worried about figuring out if the jelly was set or not. I used the freezer test, and it turned out just fine. I was really pleased with the presentation, and mine looks exactly like those pictured--brilliant, jewel-toned red. I'm very pleased and I think this will be one of those centerpiece items in next year's Christmas gift baskets!

Chili Con Queso Dip I

I actually don't use this as a dip, but rather a spread to put inside of quesadillas and pan-seared burritos. It is great and really adds a special flavor to Mexican dishes. The bit of heat and creaminess are a lovely addition!

Nacho Dip I

We all liked this a lot. I was a bit hesitant to make it, as I've never made a dip with sour cream, cream cheese, and salsa and it sounded a bit iffy. But we don't have Velveeta where I live and I wanted something "Mexican-ish." This was fantastic. We did add a layer of ground beef that I cooked with some salsa, but it'd be great without it, too. I actually went back to the store to buy more sour cream and cream cheese for our next game night!

Raspberry Cheese Spread

A great Christmas tradition for my house! Ok, it's great all year round, but Christmas always says "cheese ball time" to me, and this is one of the great ones. I wanted something just a bit different, the first time I made it, and I was surprised and happy to find that the combinations of flavors are fantastic. A keeper of a recipe!

Brazilian Lemonade

Lovely! Refreshing and tart and frothy and creamy and...mmmm! I've been using small limes, kind of like key limes, as I live in SE Asia and it's such a great treat in the heat. I can see this being one of my signature drinks for special occasions!

Kettle Corn

After much experimentation, I have to say that sesame oil is the best for popping corn. Sometimes a do a 2-1 ratio of sesame to olive oil. The sugar addition to the popping is amazing. I think I'm going to have to make some tonight! This is one of my "great finds" on allrecipes. I'm very happy!

Raspberry Ribbons

Good flavor, but impossible to cut without breaking the cookies. I tried different knives, when they were warm, right out of the oven, cold, etc. If I did manage to cut them, when they were picked up, then the broke! I didn't make my indentations for the jam very deep either. They might be fine as a jam thumbprint cookie, but I liked the ribbon look. It just didn't work out for me, so for a Christmas cookie standard, it won't make my list.

Simple 'N' Delicious Chocolate Cake

There is no reason to go searching for another chocolate cake recipe! I love this cake. No one can tell there is coffee, but it's so dark and rich and moist that people ask how I made it. I only have access to Dutch processed cocoa, which may make a difference. I did try a couple other recipes after finding this one and each time chided myself because they just weren't as good. I'm so glad I have this one in my recipe book!

World's Best Potato Salad

I've tried upteen potato salad recipes, but this one is the keeper! I think the cooked sauce is what does it. Someone commented that it tasted a bit like egg salad, but I love eggs in my potato salad. I've never heard of a cooked sauce, so I was a bit leery, but I'm so glad I tried it!

Light Oat Bread

This was great! I hand kneaded this, as I don't have a bread machine. I also used butter. It was absolutely great. A nice flavor, hearty enough to slice for sandwiches, and it rose nicely. I recommend!

OREO Mini PHILLY Cheesecakes

I've made a lot of cheesecakes, and even though this is very similar, for some reason the mini cheesecakes lacked a lot of flavor. It just didn't taste like good cheesecake. If I were going to make them again, I'd be sure to swirl in a layer, like raspberry or strawberry, in the middle to help make up for the lack of taste.

Caramel Shortbread Squares

A very tempting idea, but the chocolate on top melts all over your fingers and it's tricky getting the caramel exactly right. I followed the directions exactly and my caramel got too hard. I wish I'd used my candy thermometer, rather than the directions. The bottom layer was quite thick, too, and it crumbled a lot. Again, great idea, but it just wasn't a good result.

Pumpkin Crunch Parfaits

Very good! They weren't very sweet, and I could see adding a bit more to sweeten them up, but even without extra sugar, they're rich and a nice treat. I layered the pumpkin with a bit of whipping cream to have layers. This did not disappoint and I'll keep the recipe.

Glazed Apple Cookies

Absolutely lovely! They're more cake-like than chewy. Craisins are a nice addition, and the spices are the perfect blend. This is definitely a keeper recipe.

Creamy Hot Cocoa

Absolutely amazing. I've never tasted hot cocoa that was so rich and delicious. I only had full-milk whipping cream, which added to the calorie content for sure, but it was worth it! A very special treat I know I'll be adding to my Christmas Eve traditions with my family!
