This is a really great recipe. It is raining here in upstate NY today and this was just perfect. I did substitute cinnamon applesauce for the oil, and just oiled the bottom of the pan. I added walnuts, and I used a 9*13 pan instead of a normal loaf pan. It was done in 30 minutes. I used half the flour and added oats to make up the difference. I sprinkled cinnamon sugar on top. This is bakery quality bread.

This recipe is a great base. After reading others comments, I still went ahead and made the apple cake, but I also added a tablespoon of sugar and cinnamon(each), a grated apple, and 1/4 cup of cinnamon applesauce. It came out great!! Tastes just like my grandmothers except it was soooo easy!! Thanks!!
