Mardi Gras King Cake
Really like this cake, but I made the following alterations: ~~~~~~ * I halved the pastry portion of the recipe because I only wanted to make one ring, but I left the measurements for the filling portion of the recipe as written because other reviewers said the recipe needed more filling. * I substituted cinnamon applesauce for butter (same amount) in both the pastry and filling. * I left out the raisins because I’m not a big fan. :) * I made the dough in my bread machine (omitting steps 1-3 of the recipe) using the ‘dough’ setting. * For the frosting I mixed 1/3 cup confectioners’ sugar with 1.5 tsp water and food coloring. I did three bowls of this so that I could have gold, green, and purple and it made just enough frosting. ~~~~~~ I only gave this four stars because I'm not a fan of the frosting. I think a cream cheese frosting would be MUCH better.

Sweet Dinner Rolls
I LOVE this recipe and so does everyone I've ever made it for. I make the dough in my bread machine exactly as written. Then divide it into a dozen pieces, roll them into balls, place them in a butter greased dish, and brush melted butter on top. Perfection!! I've also substituted margarine when I was out of butter and they were still just as delicious.

Colleen's Slow Cooker Jambalaya
Very YUMMY Jambalaya! The flavor is perfect but beware.. VERY SPICY! The brand of andouille we used had quite a bit of spice in and of itself, so next time I think I will leave out the cayenne pepper and cut back on the Cajun seasoning. Don't get me wrong.. we love spicy flavors in our house, but this was just a tad too much heat :) The only other change I made was that I served it mixed with cooked rice.
