I am a 23 year old single mother. I think that cooking is a release for me, because no matter how the day ends up, when I am cooking everything melts away. I love to see the effect food has on the people I make for, and I love when my daughter enjoys my cooking. Anything that is fried, has cheese, or gravy on it! I still have my grandmother's cookbook from the 30's. It's falling apart but it holds some of her recipes she passed down to my mother before she passed away. I look through it in comparison to today's cookbooks. Fried chicken for my daughter's father. Once he found out about this, he wanted it all the time. He never really liked fried chicken before that. There are countless. Coconut shrimp, was the most noticeable. It was so nasty! I also tried to make cake for the first time without eggs, and that was horrific. It involved green food coloring. In my defense, I was only 9 years old at the time.
