About this Cook
I am a SAHM to two wonderful boys, 12 years and 4 years. I am married to a great man who is also a great cook.
My favorite things to cook
I love baking. I also cook other things, but baking is my first love.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I enjoy using recipes that my grandmothers taught me as well as recipes from my mother and father. It brings back wonderful memories when I serve something that has been in my family for generations.
My cooking triumphs
My favorite memory of cooking is the very first time I "cooked". I made a wonderful (to me)soup. I was 5. It had water, sliced hot dogs and carrots. My parents ate every bite. That is when I realized that I could make things that people would really eat. I have to really thank my parents for eating that, but it did make me enjoy cooking.
My cooking tragedies
I would have to say that my first tragedy, was my attempt at a souffle. It didnt fall, it didnt do anything. I forgot to turn the oven on. I then had to figure out something else on the fly.

Creamy Hot Cocoa
I just have to say that this is yummy. I only made one change, and that was to skip the half and half, only because I didn't have any. Next time I make it, I will be sure to have some on hand.

Butterscotch Brownies III
I was looking for a butterscotch brownie recipe that I rememberd from when I was a kid. This recipe sounded like it would work. I tried it an it turned out great! In fact, after I made them, my family of 5 had them gone in half an hour and I had to make another (double) batch! I followed the recipe for the brownies exactly, but left off the icing. Definitley a keeper.

Roast Sticky Chicken-Rotisserie Style
I found this recipe to try with my new rotisserie. It came out wonderful. I only had time to marinate it for 2 hours and it tastes great. Next time I will do it the night before and I am sure it will be better. The recipe makes enough for two chickens, but I only had one. I took out part of the rub mixed it with a little oil and poured it over cut up potatoes and roasted them.
