About this Cook
I'm currently a stay at home mom with two daughters (4 and 6) and another baby on the way in January 2010! I am going to school to complete my bachelors in Early Childhood Education. My hobbies are travel, photography, ghost hunting, and home canning.
My favorite things to cook
I love to can the fresh produce that I can get from local markets in my area. My favorite food to can so far has to be apples!!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Home made apple butter, strawberry jam, and sticky gooey yummy cakes, pies and pastries!!
My cooking triumphs
Making my first Pasta Carbonara from scratch and absolutely hitting the cream/egg combo just right. Thank goodness too, we had a TON of company for that experiment! Home made Sushi has been a big hit in the house as well.
My cooking tragedies
Trying to can peaches that wouldn't cooperate! They turned to mush and I had to throw out nearly 4 pounds of peach mush in the end. It wasn't even decent enough for jam or jelly in the end!!

Taco Lasagna
This is one of the yummiest "lasagnas" I've ever made. I followed some of the reviews and added refried beans to the tortillas before layering, and although it was yummy, it made the dish a little gooey. It tasted great though and my hubby and kids wolfed it down before I could even ask their opinion. Thank you for adding this great recipe!!

Grandmother's Buttermilk Cornbread
I have made over 50 different variations of cornbread, and this was hands down the BEST cornbread I have ever made. My kids couldn't stop eating it, and before dinner was even over my husband was asking if I could bake more to take with him to work the next day. It was creamy, sweet, and just delicious!! Thank you for adding this recipe, you just added a staple in our household!!

Banana Banana Bread
So easy and yummy! My 2 daughters (4 and 6) had a great time in the kitchen making this yummy scrumptious bread. Thank you to the original baker!! We did one tiny adjustment: We added 1 tsp. of cinnamon and 1 1/2 tsp. of vanilla ext. It came out smelling and tasting wonderful. This is now a staple in our house!!
