I'm currently a stay at home mom with two daughters (4 and 6) and another baby on the way in January 2010! I am going to school to complete my bachelors in Early Childhood Education. My hobbies are travel, photography, ghost hunting, and home canning. I love to can the fresh produce that I can get from local markets in my area. My favorite food to can so far has to be apples!! Home made apple butter, strawberry jam, and sticky gooey yummy cakes, pies and pastries!! Making my first Pasta Carbonara from scratch and absolutely hitting the cream/egg combo just right. Thank goodness too, we had a TON of company for that experiment! Home made Sushi has been a big hit in the house as well. Trying to can peaches that wouldn't cooperate! They turned to mush and I had to throw out nearly 4 pounds of peach mush in the end. It wasn't even decent enough for jam or jelly in the end!!
