Apple Cardamom Cheesecake
About this Cook
I'm a self-taught cook and although I don't have a sweet tooth, baking seems to be my forte. I'm always giving away whatever I make! I'm a born-and-raised Valley Girl, and I like to experiment with all the different foods available in the Los Angeles area. So many cultures, so little time.
My favorite things to cook
Quickbreads are my specialty, although I make a mean Chicken Marsala and pork chops w/ raspberry sauce.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My grandmother is Hungarian, and her cooking is always amazing and (frustratingly) impossible to duplicate. One day I'll get it right!
My cooking triumphs
Apple Cardamom cheesecake, Downeast Maine Pumpkin bread, Banana Bread are my most popular dishes with family and friends.

Boudreaux's Zydeco Stomp Gumbo
I made this for a Gumbo cookoff, and beat out 4 other cooks for first place with this recipe! A few minor changes: I doubled the sausage; decreased the chicken broth to a little over 2 quarts; also boiled the shrimp shells in some of the chicken broth to add a little more of that flavor. Used one red jalapeno, one red holland chili (WOW HOT!), one serrano, and one big fat anaheim chili. I used Penzey's Cajun spice mix. This was quite hot, but absolutely delicious!!

Enchilada Sauce
WOW. Really easy and delicious. Didn't change a thing, and it turned out rich and flavorful but without all the oil and fat you might expect in a mole. NOTE - I blended in a food processor just before spreading in the pan and over the enchiladas. Gave it a really smooth texture.

Best Steak Marinade in Existence
WOW. So incredibly good. I did add 4TB brown sugar and a few pinches of onion powder. My boyfriend could not stop eating it. We did a 2+ pound tri tip with it and marinated overnite.
