I have just started to dabble in cooking during the last 5 years or so. It is somewhat a daunting task, considering I am married to a CIA graduate specializing in classic french style and has extensive fine food and wine restaurant experience. (But what a great resourse!) My new favorite toy is the slow cooker. But, right now, I like to try everything. Being from Texas, we always had nachos on Sunday night. We ate a great deal of Tex-Mex and that is my favorite type of food. Right now, I am creating my own traditions for my family. Still looking for that. Cooking for my husband (trying to impress him by knowing his background) and not realizing I am supposed to wash pinenuts before cooking with them. He was picking the grit out of his teeth after sampling my spinach.
