About this Cook
I'm a RN and mom to 3 kiddo's. I live on a small hobby-farm in central Indiana where I have a couple cows, chickens, horses, dogs, cats, and kids!
My favorite things to cook
I love to bake bread!! Next to that, I love to just throw things together and see what comes out. Most of the time, everyone loves it! But, I have had my share of failures too.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I was "raised in a restaurant" as my Polish grandparents owned restaurants and were chefs their whole lives; Grandpa was the kitchen chef-and Grandma was the pastry chef...mmmmm, yummy!!
My cooking triumphs
My cheesecake! Once, a friend (after having Thanksgiving dinner with us and falling in love with my cheesecake) interupted my husband while he was complaining about something I had done with a stern "but, did you taste the cheesecake???". Since then, when I mess something up, the retort is "but, did you taste the cheesecake?". And that friend to this day calls me 'cheesecake' as my nickname.
My cooking tragedies
Hmmmm. Most of my failures revolve around making candies. But, the best part of messing up candy is that even if your toffee becomes a ball of crystals when it seizes--it still tastes great!!
