About this Cook
I get the strangest looks and comments when I tell people I took Home Ec from 7th thru 12th grade. I just loved being in the kitchen and still do.
My favorite things to cook
All things Mexican especially tamales. I also make a mean spaghetti sauce so I make a double batch to make a few pans of lasagna.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My grandfather was a meat cutter and a great cook. He made the best bread stuffing for Thanksgiving. Although he didn't have a recipe I have been able to duplicate it.
My cooking triumphs
My spaghetti sauce is really delicious. I have a secret ingredient that I have only shared with my daughter in law. I only make it during the fall and winter months because I simmer it for 6-8 hours.
My cooking tragedies
I made chicken and biscuits and accidentally used baking soda instead of baking powder. They were so salty we had to throw them away.

Tomatillo Guacamole
This was delicious. The addition of the tomatillo really added a new dimension, I loved the texture and the tang! I used 4 avocado and only 2 tomatoes and added a a few tbsp of chopped cilantro. Thanks for a new take on guac!!

Polish Cabbage Noodles
Very nice change of pace from buttered noodles. Got to use up my cabbage and onions I had in the fridge. I added a sprinkle of caraway seeds before serving. Thanks for sharing!

Bacon Ranch Pasta Salad
We loved it and so did everyone at the party. Will be making often. I am going to experiment with yogurt cheese instead of mayo.
