This is a very tasty cake however after baking for 1 hour 20 minutes the outside was a bit overdone and the inside was fine. I followed the recipe to the tee. next time i think i will lower temp to 325.

Oma's German Marble Cake

The texture on this cake was very good. however, the flavor left alot to be desired. it needed vanilla extract and maybe a half cup less flour. the chocolate flavor was just not there either. all in all it made a realy pretty cake that tasted like nothing.

I AM LESS THAN IMPRESSED. IT IS TOO LEMONY TO BLAND AND NOT ENOUGH SUGAR. THE TEXTURE IS GOOD HOWEVER. VERY MUFFINY.

Potato Pancakes

Reviewed: Jun. 13, 2009
oh my goodness are these good. I shredded a onion in with the potato to avoid biting into a onion chunk. I also added some galic powder for a little extra kick. I recommend putting these on paper towels after they come off the frying pan because they do soak up oil. I paired mine with eggs and ketchup and was set to go. love this recipe.

This was a big hit in our household. Itwas made as a pizza. I rolled out the dough and added chicken, onions and roast red peppers and mozzarella cheese as a topping. It was so good and sure beat the pizzeria down the block.

I found these to be delicious. the vanilla really shines thru and I found the texture to be perfect. I stuffed the crepes with banana and chocolate chips that i warmed thru until the chocolate melted. also I added an additional tsp of vanilla and 2 tsp of butter to the banana mixture. bon apetit!!!

Chocolate Cakes with Liquid Centers

Reviewed: May 17, 2009
I would have given this recipe a five star rating except for the fact that the cooking time was off. I think it needeed about 10 minutes in the oven I added some vanilla extract about 1/2 tb. The flavor was absolutely delicious. All in all we still ate the cakes but they were too runny. It went beyond lava cake to a full blown chocolate flood.

Cinnamon-Swirl Raisin Bread

Reviewed: May 5, 2009
When I first read the recipe and the list of ingredients I was a bit put off by the potato. However, this bread is moist, sweet and all around yummy. I made some slight modifications to suit my dietary needs. I added 1/3 cp splenda baking sugar instead of real sugar and I added 6 tbs apple sauce instead of margarine listed. I still ended up with a absolutely wonderful bread I am proud to serve to friends and family. This recipe is a keeper.

English Royalty Chocolate Chip Scones

Reviewed: May 4, 2009
I played around with this recipe a bit. I added 1/2 tb of vanilla extract and added 2 additional tbs of oj. I also used 2 tb of apple sauce and 3 tb of butter just to cut down on the fat. I also added 2 tbs of unsweetened cocoa powder and added 1/3 cup splenda baking sugar instead of real sugar. I did this this to save on calories. Even with all the modifications this recipe is still top notch. on of the best out there.

Pumpkin Raisin Scones

Reviewed: Apr. 16, 2009
Let me start by saying that I am neither a big pumpkin or raisin fan. My husband loves it but even I liked these scones. They were light and airy and not at all dense as some scones can be. I substituted splenda baking sugar mix for the regular sugar and also used pumpkin pie spice and cinnamon instead of all the other spices. I also used regular all purpose flour. I made a smaller batch of 12 because I wanted to test the recipe first. I will say these are comfort food to the max. On a cool day with some nice hot chocolate or coffee you can't get any better. Bravo to the contributor.

Twenty Minute Buns

Reviewed: Apr. 14, 2009
While I wouldn't say these are your typical hamburger bun they are really good. My family likes them for use in egg sandwiches. I use my mixer with the dough hook to stir and kneed the dough thus avoiding the stickyness. For additional sweetness I 2tb honey, I have also made them regular way. I used olive oil instead of vegetable oil. Very good.

Apple Yogurt Pancakes

Reviewed: Feb. 24, 2009
This pancake is very good, I certainly will make these again. As mentioned in prior reviews these pancakes are dense but not overpoweringly so. It's just the right amount of denseness. In my opinion this adds to the overall heartiness of the pancake. They do bubble when ready to be turned but not as much as the store bought mixes. I also found thaby using a griddle these pancakes were forgiving if my attention was turned elsewhere. As long as they are over a low medium heat they come out perfect. My only complaint is that the apple did not come thru as much as I'd hoped. I used a mcintosh apple perhaps next time I'll use a granny smith. Also the pancakes were a bit bland. Next time I will add a bit of vanilla extract and maybe a smidge of nutmeg and sugar. Just to jazz up the flavor. All in all it's a great base recipe guaranteed to warm your heart on a cold, yucky morning.

Chicken Breasts with Balsamic Vinegar and Garlic

Reviewed: Feb. 22, 2009
THIS RECIPE WAS ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS. I FOLLOWED ALL DIRECTIONS AND MADE ONLY 1 SUBSTITUTION. I USED BASIL INSTEAD OF THYME BECAUSE I WAS OUT OF IT. IT IS VERY VERY STRONG VINEGAR FLAVORED BUT NOT TO THE POINT OF BEING TO MUCH. IF YOU LIKE BALSAMIC VINEGAR BUT ARE NOT A SUPER SUPER FAN THEN I SUGGEST REDUCING THE VINEGAR BY HALF. ALL IN ALL THIS IS DESTINED TO BE A FAMILY FAVORITE. BRAVO!!!

Mama D's Italian Bread

VERY GOOD BUT A BIT MORE DENSE THAN I WOULD HAVE LIKED. THE COOKING TIME I USED WAS ABOUT 40 MINUTES WITH AN ELECTRIC RANGE. I WOULD SUGGEST USING A BIT MORE SALT AND OTHER FLAVORING. ALL IN ALL AN EASY BREAD RECIPE.

Yellow Angel Food Cake

THIS CAKE IS NICE AND FLUFFY. I DID ADD SOME VARIATIONS TO THE RECIPE. I ADDED 1 TABLESPOON OF ORANGE ZEST, 1/2 TS OF ORANGE EXTRACT AND 1/2 TS OF VANILLA. I ADDED THESE BECAUSE WITHOUT IT THE CAKE IS A BIT BLAND. I ALSO LOWERED THE COOK TIME TO 35 MINUTES AND LOWERED THE TEMPERATURE TO 325 DEGREES. I WORK WITH AN ELECTRIC RANGE SO I KEPT A CLOSE EYE. ALL IN ALL A FABULOUS RECIPE. I PLAN TO SERVE IT WITH A WHIPPED TOPPING AND A TROPICAL FRUIT MEDLEY. ENJOY!!!

Heavenly White Cake

Reviewed: Feb. 10, 2009
This is a very flavorful cake and goes well paired with a cream cheese frosting. However, perhaps I did something wrong because the cake was not moist at all. When I was mixing it I felt that it was to dry and almost kind of dough like. I agree with the other streviewers it could use an additional 1/2 cup of milk in the recipe. All in all not fabulous but still good.
