About this Cook
The love of cooking runs in my family, and we all love to share try new recipes. My sister lives close by, so every time we each try a new recipe, we take some to the other so they can try it too!
My favorite things to cook
I love to try anything new, and I am just now getting in to experimenting with grilling different things. I LOVE to make appetizers, I would rather cook a bunch of different appetizers than cook a whole meal.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Each Christmas, my in-laws come to our house either on Christmas or Christmas Eve, and I cook a fancy dinner, usually steaks, and I make a whole bunch of appetizers to munch on while opening presents, such as Shrimp Cocktail, Crab Rangoon, Sausage Balls, Asiago Cheese Dip w/ Crostini. On Christmas morning I make Breakfast Casserole Homeade Sticky buns. When we do Christmas with my parents, we all chip in make a bunch of different appetizers have those as our meal.
My cooking triumphs
I would have to say I triumped over making ribs last summer....it takes a few times to get them "just right" but I finally mastered it my family loves them! Also, making anything w/ yeast, for years I was too nervous to make anything w/ yeast, and now I do it all the time!
My cooking tragedies
When I was in high school, my best friend I were at my house got hungry for tator tots, so I went to get my mom's Fry Daddy from the top of the fridge I tilted it not knowing it was FULL of oil, and needless to say I ended up drenched with oil so did the carpet........I had one VERY angry mother who reminds me of it to this day! Also when my hubby I were dating I thought I would make him some Raspberry Iced tea, I was making it on a gas stove caught the tea bags on fire....this was the day after our first date, so I am lucky I didn't scare him off!

Corn Relish II
This is excellent...super easy, I wouldn't change a thing! I would suggest cutting up the veggies one day & cooking the next. It freezes well. I love to mix it w/ sour cream or cream cheese & eat w/ tortilla chips. Yummy!!!

Jenn's Out Of This World Spaghetti and Meatballs
I only used the meatball part of this recipe, because I already had bottled spaghetti sauce....and WOW, were they fantastic....I still sauted in the sauce for 40 minutes, I've never had such tender meatballs! The ONLY change I made was I used ground turkey as I am a bit of a health nut. They turned out wonderful!! I can't wait to try the sauce too!!
