About this Cook
I grew up in central NY state and spent a lot of my youth in the kitchen with my Grandmother. I bake a lot for both my husband and I to take to work and am constantly thanking my Grandmother for spending the time with me and teaching me. My co-workers and my husbands employees really love getting all of the baked goods and it's nice to hear the compliments!
My favorite things to cook
I've really started to like making bundt cakes for some reason lately. I also like quite a few simple recipes that don't require exotic ingredients.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Cooking with my Grandmother-it didn't matter if we were making dozens of Christmas cookies together or if she was trying to teach me how to make pie crusts, we always had a great time in the kitchen.
My cooking triumphs
Bringing together holiday meals. There's SO much to do and it's nice to feel a bit of triumph when you're able to bring it all together and still have it all hot!
My cooking tragedies
Nothing too serious. I was making zucchini bread with my Grandmother and she decided we should double the recipe. Neither of us realized that the recipe already yielded 4 loaves of bread! We had to use the neighbors oven to bake all of them!

Fudge-Nut Oatmeal Bars
This got devoured when I took it to work this week. I thought the outside was a bit dry but everyone raved about it. I think next time I'll just bring a gallon of milk along! I'll for sure make it again though!

Pumpkin Crumb Cake
I sent this to work with my husband and after only having it out of his office and in a consummable place for 15 minutes I've already gotten rave reviews and a recipe request. :)
