About this Cook
Mom of four school aged kids and godmother to 2yr old twins which I babysit during the week. Avoiding packaged foods and msg like the plague. Always try to cook from scratch and to experiment with what I have on hand. Good at making substitutions and many times cook without measuring. Like to try to alter recipes to a healthier version. Would like to open a take and bake homecooked meals place.
My favorite things to cook
anything that makes people say yummy and give me the recipe
My favorite family cooking traditions
Christmas cookies (Mother in law owns a cookie company)
My cooking triumphs
turing "normal" recipes into crockpot recipes and having them taste and look just the same
My cooking tragedies
split pea soup it took me about a dozen tries to get it right and now after 15 years of marriage my hubby will actually eat it when i make it

Pumpkin Chip Cookies
Just made these and only had white chocolate chips on hand. These are a light pumpkin flavored cookie and my 2 yr old twin goddaughters loved them. Whole house smells like pie.

Awesome Sausage, Apple and Cranberry Stuffing
Outstanding. I used fresh cranberries and at first it was sour but after letting it sit awhile in the crockpot (after being in the oven) the flavors blended and it was so yummy. Definately a do again.

Glazed Apple Cookies
Made a few changes due to what I had or didn't have on hand. Used 1 cup apple sauce as too lazy to cut, peel, and whatever the apples. Didn't have cloves so used pumpkin pie spice 1 1/2 t.in place of cinnamon, cloves, and nutmeg. Threw in a small pkg. of sliced almonds. For half and half used caramel apple coffee creamer. YUM!!! These were delicious. Raisins would have made them that much better but was out. Wonderfully soft cookies.
