My Husband & I @ Christmas 2005
About this Cook
I am married to a great guy who can't get over my love for cooking! He thinks he is the luckiest man in the world. I like to ask him in the morning what he wants for dinner. Then, I go to my All Recipes site and find it. He gets home & there is a great new meal that is usully just what he wanted (though, sometimes, I throw him a twist just to make sure he tries new things)!
My favorite things to cook
I Love nearly anything that goes in a crockpot! I like casseroles too. Anything I can get a 1 pot meal out of I feel is worth my time.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I remember my grandma ALWAYS has M&M cookies at her house! Even if we dropped by unexpectedly, they were there ... and WARM. I miss that. But, in her memory, I always like to have my kitchen smell of good home cooking.
My cooking triumphs
I love inviting people over or having pot lucks. We started a weekly pot luck at my work because I was at work one day looking up a recipe for a family get together. I love expressing my love for others in a healthy & hearty dish that they enjoy. It really warms my soul.
My cooking tragedies
Don't let my bio fool you, I have burned my share of cookies. Once, I was making cookies & cupcakes for a charity bake sale and I literally forgot about the last batch in the oven. I got ready for bed & luckily smelled them before I fell asleep. Unfortunately, I could still smell them after the bake sale!

Cream of Sweet Potato Soup
My husband said 5, I said 4, but I'll give it the benefit of the difference. He says it would go great with Thai food, I agree. It has a bit of a MILD curry taste, quite good!

Cranberry Sweet Potato Bake
This was delicious! It tasted like a cobbler-esk dessert rather than a health side. (Healthy because I subbed Splenda for suger & skipped the butter.) It is a good way to get the family to eat thier fruits & veggies! I have already made it again!

Yam and Apple Casserole
This was really good, but the sweet potatoes were a bit lost in the apples & sauce.
