About this Cook
I'm a nursing student who loves to cook, but just doesn't have the time. I am a whiz at putting together leftovers and on hand ingredients and creating original recipes.
My favorite things to cook
I love making desserts. Tarts, cakes, cheesecakes, cookies, cupcakes, anything with chocolate... You name it, I've tried to make it. As to whether or not I'm always successful is another story. Cooking is a creative endeavour and it's the journey and not necessarily the final product that I enjoy.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My parents and grand-parents are amazing cooks. Of course, their style is strictly traditional filipino dishes, but over the years, the recipes have just been perfected. When I was growing up, every meal was a feast for the eyes and the tastebuds as our table was overloaded with food. We could have friends drop in on us for dinner on any given night and their would always be more than enough to feed everyone.
My cooking triumphs
My very first Thanksgiving dinner for 18 guests. Everything turned out amazingly and no one could have been more surprised than myself. I got plenty of compliments on my turkey!
My cooking tragedies
I've had too many kitchen tragedies to count. I love to experiment in the kitchen and unfortunately for my husband, he winds up being the guinea pig.

Wheat Bread with Flax Seed
My bread machine's motor konked out mid-knead so I had to finish the kneading off manually and cooked it in the oven. It still turned out great though! The first loaf didn't last the day so I quickly had to make another. A nice, hearty, healthy bread with great taste and texture!

Lentils And Spinach
Tasty! Simple ingredients and very easy to prepare. I love lentils so next time I think I'll try adding just a half cup more of them.

Easy Caramelized Onion Pork Chops
Being new to this site, I did not think to read the reviews before trying out this recipe. I wish that I had though because the suggestions all sound wonderful, but as it stands the actual recipe itself isn't that good at all.
