Pot Roast in Beer

I used tenderized round steak for this. It was good but not sensational. My family liked it but never said anything about making it again. PRob. won't do this again.

White Texas Sheet Cake

This was good but didn't get very high in the pan they suggest. Also I would cut down on the almond flavoring next time. They were good but I have had better.

Pretzel Turtles

Reviewed: Dec. 4, 2009
5 stars isn't high enough for these. They are wonderful. I did use the rolos on top of the pretzels, put the pecan on top of it and put it in the oven for only 5 minutes. Take out of the oven and push down on the pecan. Worked wonderfully. I doubled the recipe that should have at least made 4 batches. They will disappear fast for the holidays.

Pasta with Peas and Sausage

This was just ok. Reminded me of a pasta hotdish and not an italian dish. My family liked it but nothing to brag about. Will NOT make again. Just so so

Ruth's Grandma's Pie Crust

Reviewed: Nov. 28, 2009
This tasted excellent. Not sure why I had trouble rolling it out but I pieced it together in a pie pan. VERY FLAKY. I did brush egg on the crust before I filled it and liked that alot. Will definetley use again. This makes enough for about 3- 3 1/2 pies. I had extra so I put it in the freezer to use at a later time.

Irresistible Pecan Pie

This was excellent. I did not put the pecans in the pie but instead on top of the crust before I put in the filling and then on top again.

Peppered Shrimp Alfredo

Reviewed: Nov. 28, 2009
This was awesome. I added red roasted peppers from a jar like someone else mentioned and this was excellent. Instead of a jar of Alfredo sauce I used a homemade alfredo sauce and loved this. Very rich. This recipe is definetly enough for 4 if not 5-6. Will make again.

Alfredo Sauce

Reviewed: Nov. 28, 2009
This was excellent. After it cooked and got thicker, I did remove about 1/2 cup of the sauce and add some cornstarch to it to thicken and this helped alot.

Exquisite Pizza Sauce

Reviewed: Nov. 22, 2009
This was excellent. I made it with a homemade crust ( try the Jay's signature Pizza crust-- awesome) My company asked me about the sauce. They loved it! I did add a couple teaspoons of italian seasoning also. I did like some suggested and took the dry ingredients and timzed it by 10 and made extra dry ingredients, put it in a jar so when I make more sauce all I need to do is add the liquids. Then Use about 1 large TBSP of the seasoning from the jar with the liquids. What a time savings then. One recipe makes enough for 1 pizza. I let it sit at room temperature at least 1 hour to have the flavors become enhanced.

Jay's Signature Pizza Crust

Reviewed: Nov. 22, 2009
THis was wonderful. I made it for my family and our company and several commented on the crust. I let it raise for 1 hour in an oven that I preheated at 170 degress and shut off. It raised very nicely. Don't overcook this. I made two pans, the one I let the edges get nice and brown but when we ate it the edges got alittle crisp. The other one I took out when it was very lightly browned but this one I actually had on a stone too so that probably helped. This was our favorite homemade crust we have ever had.

This was wonderful!! I did not add the pudding like some suggested. I did double it though and put it into a 16 1/2 x 12 1/2 pan. It was gone! Everyone had at least 2 pieces throughout the day.

Green Punch

Reviewed: Nov. 1, 2009
THIS WAS EXCELLENT. I ALSO ADDED A CAN OF LEMONDADE AND THEN 3 MORE CANS OF WATER BESIDES WHAT IT CALLED BECAUSE OF THE ADDED LEMONADE. I TOO CUT THE SUGAR IN HALF AS ONE OTHER PERSON SAID AND I LIKED THAT ALOT. I ADDED THE SUGAR THE SAME TIME AS THE JELLO IN THE HOT WATER TO TOTALLY GET IT DISSOLVED. I PUT DRIED ICE IN IT FOR HALLOWEEN AND IT WAS A HIT!!!!

Old-Fashioned Lemonade

This was very good. I didn't have a juicer so I decided to take lemon juice in a bottle that you use for cooking. I used 1 cup of this and increased the water to 7 cups and 1 cup of sugar. I added LOTS of ice. Was wonderful!

Chocolate Chex® Caramel Crunch

Reviewed: Mar. 28, 2009
This was great. I agree with someone else that you DO NOT need to use the chocolate chex mix which is more expensive anyway. I used half corn and half rice and actually made 4 batches right away. Excellent! Went great at a party I had. I used white almond bark melted and drizzled over instead of vanilla chips because this was cheaper too!
