I'm married, work full time, and love to cook in my spare time. I'm learning to cook a little bit healthier without sacrificing flavor and fun.
My favorite things to cook
I go through phases. Right now I'm really into salmon, pork, goat cheese, and sundried tomatoes. Not necessarily together, although some combinations of those could be delicious!
My favorite family cooking traditions
I love cooking for holidays, especially Thanksgiving. We're still trying to replicate my great-grandmother's cornbread dressing. Those recipes that get passed down by word-of-mouth only can be tricky, so it changes every year!
My cooking triumphs
I make a really good slow-cooker beef teriyaki that we love. I was really proud of a lemon chiffon cake I baked recently. It's time for a chiffon revival.
My cooking tragedies
I've baked two different bundt cakes that fell apart when I tried to get them out of the pan. I retried both recipes though, and they came out well on the second try. I try to learn from my mistakes.
