About this Cook
My husband and I live in California and love to try out different recipes, types of food, and restaurants. I started cooking on a more regular basis when we got married and I have found it to be one of my most enjoyable hobbies.
My favorite things to cook
I am known for my salads and desserts...I am always asked to bring them to dinners or potlucks. I like most things to be homemade...dressings, salsas, breads, etc. Store bought just doesn't cut it anymore. I enjoy cooking most things and experimenting.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I have a lot of cooks in my family. My sister owns a successful restaurant and all of my brothers like to cook. It's in my blood. We have a lot of great family recipes and we always cook for the holidays.
My cooking triumphs
Desserts, salads, and am learning to make homemade breads.
My cooking tragedies
I'm TERRIBLE at cooking chicken dishes. I always overcook so I end up buying already cooked chicken for my recipes.

Orzo with Parmesan and Basil
This was very tasty but I thought it could use some crunch, so I added some sliced almonds. Perfect!

To Die For Blueberry Muffins
Delish! I added some fresh lemon juice/peel because I love blueberry lemon muffins. They turned out great! Will definitely make again!

Bacon Cheddar Deviled Eggs
I like to add some diced avocado (right before serving). I have a similar recipe that I use for egg salad...just throw it all in a bowl, mix it up, toss it on some toasted squaw bread and add sliced avocado. Delish!
