About this Cook
I put my cooking level as "intermediate" because I only consider people like Emeril Lagasse, Michael Chiarello, Mario Batali, and John Besh to be "experts"!!!
My favorite things to cook
Everything - especially on a cold, rainy, and/or winter's day!!! Also - love to cook and have a great dinner ready for when my husband gets home from work!!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Christmas Cookies at Christmas and Pumpkin cookies and roasted pumpkin seeds in the Fall! And - of course - my husband's fabulous apple pie!!
My cooking triumphs
Fixing the perfect New Orleans Gumbo for a small dinner party!

White Sauce for Pasta
Excellent!!! I doubled the recipe to use with a smoked salmon pasta. I omitted the bouillon and granules - but added salt, pepper, and blackened redfish seasoning. I also used real butter. Will use this again - was super quick and super easy!!!!!

Mincemeat Crumb Bars
Wonderful!! I did do a slight "goof" - I wasn't paying attention and forgot to bake the crust first, before putting the mincemeat in (I used a large jar and added walnuts as well!). Fortunately - I just doubled the bake time - and with my oven - it came out perfect!!! Will make again!!!!!!!! Oh - also - didn't use the frosting at all - but would have been nice - had with vanilla ice cream instead.

Banana Oatmeal Cookie
A good cookie - very cakey - so make sure you like that type of cookie. Also - you should totally spray a little Pam on the cookie sheet before putting the dough on!!!! A must! I added some vanilla bean paste - because I like a lot of vanilla flavor. These are good with milk - or heat up one in a bowl and put a spoon of vanilla ice cream over it.
