My chicken wasn't quite thawed when I started to do it, so I wasn't able to flatten & roll it. I proceeded with the recipe just stacking ham & cheese on top. I sprinkled bread crumbs on top of that, and drizzled the very top with a bit of butter (but not the sides, as chicken juice and cheese fat would suffice to lube up that area). Was very good, if a little messy looking. I didn't make the nasty condensed soup sauce.
