Sour Cream Cut-Outs

Reviewed: Dec. 19, 2009
I like the taste, but next time, will cut the cooking time by a few minutes, as 10 minutes produced a somewhat dry cookie. They hold their shape very well and look really pretty frosted with sugar cookie frosting from this site. Thank you for sharing this recipe!

Sugar Cookie Icing

Reviewed: Dec. 19, 2009
As written, the liquid amounts are off, as many other reviewers noted as well. But, once you play around with the amounts, it turns out just as promised. Hence, the reason I'm giving this 5 stars. The almond extract was okay, but I'm going to take the recommendations of others who suggested lemon, orange, or peppermint extract. Thank you for sharing this recipe!

Raspberry Ribbons

Reviewed: Dec. 10, 2009
I took these for a test run last night and am happy to report that they'll definitely be on my cookie plates this year. They came together in no time - dough is great to work with and shape into logs. I formed them into 2" X 8" logs; I wouldn't want to go any longer than that. Very festive looking with the raspberry jam down the center. Very tasty too! Thanks for sharing this recipe!

Simple Herb Rice

Reviewed: Nov. 16, 2009
Pretty good considering how easy it is to make. To make it even easier (and I think tastier), I just heated up vegetarian chicken broth instead of using the bouillon cubes. I'd like to add some garlic next time I make this. Thank you for sharing this recipe!

Garlic Potatoes Gratin

Reviewed: Nov. 8, 2009
I loved the addition of garlic, but think I'd be more apt to make au gratin potatoes the way I'm used to, starting with a roux, etc. Used 1 cup 1% milk and 1/2 cup cream. Thanks for sharing!

All Day Apple Butter

Reviewed: Nov. 8, 2009
I'm so glad I tried this as I now know I'll be making more throughout the holiday season. Whisking really helped break up the apples to produce a smooth consistency. Like others, I opted to reduce sugar by half and used 1c brown, 1 c white. Since I didn't have cloves, I used pumpkin pie spice in its place. Oh, and since I didn't have quite 5 1/2 pounds of apples, I used some organic pears for the remaining amount. This is soooo good! Thank you for sharing this recipe!

Scalloped Potatoes and Onions

Reviewed: Oct. 19, 2009
The easiest scalloped potatoes recipe I've made! I love the fact that it's not loaded with dairy products. I sauteed my onions in the butter and then added the flour to make the roux. Thank you for sharing this recipe.

Sun's Korean Marinating Sauce

Reviewed: Oct. 19, 2009
Definite keeper! I went a little lighter on the sugar, but don't be afraid to use it as the end result is surprisingly mildly sweet. Almost a smoky flavor. I let the tuna marinade for about an hour and 20 minutes and used black sesame seeds for toasting. Thank you for sharing this recipe!

Ron's Grilled Shrimp

Great marinade! I love the lemon/lime combination - I added these to a Pasta Primavera dish (Food Network's Giada De Laurentiis) I made for dinner and it was wonderful. I'm so glad to have found this recipe... Thank you!

PHILLY Bavarian Apple Torte

Reviewed: Oct. 11, 2009
Perfect dessert to impress your guests. Even Mom. In celebration of MY Mom's birthday, I cooked dinner for her today and finished it off with this beautiful dessert. I nixed the almonds and drizzled caramel sauce over each piece. She loved it!

Sweet Dinner Rolls

Reviewed: Oct. 11, 2009
I can see why these rolls are so popular. The dough is so soft and silky. This carries over to the final product; very light and airy. I loved working with this recipe and will also use it to make sweet rolls. Thank you for sharing this recipe; it's a keeper!

Cheese Garlic Biscuits II

Reviewed: Oct. 4, 2009
Not on my list to make again. I think some measurements need to be revised; they turned out underdone, even after I increased the baking time. Taste was not up to par, I opted not to eat it after the first two bites. The topping, on the other hand, was wonderful. Thank you for letting me try.

Dee's Health Bread

Reviewed: Oct. 4, 2009
This is what I've been looking for! Absolutely wonderful in taste, ease of preparation and in handling/working with the dough. I used oatmeal instead of cracked wheat, but kept everything else the same. I can't say enough good things about this recipe! This will surely be placed in my list of top 5 bread recipes. Thank you so much for sharing this recipe!

Hearty Oatmeal Loaf

Reviewed: Sep. 27, 2009
5 stars all the way. I put this on the dough cycle of my bread machine, then shaped and let it rise about 40 minutes. Didn't want to open up a whole carton of apple juice, so opted for applesauce instead.(Thanks to those of you who mentioned using it) I would never have thought of using the applesauce, so I learned something today! Will most definitely use this recipe again; the taste is so very good. Thank you for sharing this recipe!

Triangular Delights

Reviewed: Sep. 23, 2009
The recipe submitter is right... these ARE a great healthy snack. 10 minutes was spot on for my oven. I did add a little bit of sea salt to mine. Using a round pizza pan with holes worked out well for making these so crispy. Thank you for sharing this recipe!

Christmas Banana Bread

Reviewed: Sep. 23, 2009
This is phenomenal. I love the combination of chocolate, cherries and bananas. I used bittersweet chocolate chips which gave this a deep dark chocolate flavor. I omitted the nuts, but will definitely try adding them next time. Although very easy to make, this bread gets props for its festive appeal/look; it's not your average banana bread. Thank you for sharing this recipe - this will be great for the holidays!

Curried Zucchini Soup

Okay, but it needs something and I'm stumped as to what I could add to make this a 5 star recipe. The suggestion about adding sour cream is a smart idea - that helped considerably. Thanks for letting me try.

Cyndi's Shrimp Fajitas

Reviewed: Sep. 20, 2009
Easy to throw together for a quick dinner. I would have liked more "oomph" as it tasted somewhat plain. Perhaps a longer marinade time or additional seasonings would do the trick. I loved the addition of corn and zucchini to the fajitas - never thought of doing that, but will include those next time I make fajitas. Great way to get in those veggies! Mexican Whole Wheat Flour Tortillas

Reviewed: Sep. 19, 2009
These are easier to make than you might think... I don't care for shortening, so opted for canola oil instead. This recipe yielded 25 tortillas for me, not the 18 listed. I'll try all white flour next time. Thanks for sharing this recipe!
