Family-Style French Toast

This was so good! After his first bite by husband said. "This is so good. It is like a head on collision between french toast and a sticky bun!" My thoughts exactly. Easy and wonderful. Doesn't get better than that!

Slow Cooker Pulled Pork Roast

My husband thought that this was OK, but I really did not like it. I think that it might have been the vinegar, but I am not sure. I just know that there was a strong taste in this that I really did not like. Will not make again. Sorry.

Famous Chicken Francaise

This was wonderful. Chicken was amazingly tender and tasty. Served with sauteed zuchini and yellow summer squash and poured a bit of the cooking sauce over that. Really yummy. Will make again.

Angel Chicken Pasta

I made this last night and we really loved it. I did replace the golden mushroom soup with regular (reduced fat) mushroom soup and I will do that again next time as well. Also covered the pan after the first 15 minutes or so as the top was crusting without a cover. Pulled it off towards the end and stirred everything up. This was creamy and wonderful and the chicken fell apart. Also, I used three half chicken breasts as there were only two of us, but left the sauce ingredients the same. Plenty for the two of us and leftovers to reheat tomorrow night. Thanks for the recipe.

Crispy Fish Fillets

We liked this very much. I used Tilapia rather than Sole as that was the only fresh white fish that my grocery store had (small town). But it worked great. Will make this again for sure.

Cheese Sauce Over Cauliflower

I love cauliflower with cheese sauce, but I thought that this was really awful. Sorry. Thyme was the wrong seasoning for us in this dish and the sauce was not rich or creamy as it should have been. This was a waste of a bunch of good cheese I am afraid.

Unbelievable Rolls

Very unusual method, but it works. Dough did not seem to rise much when on counter, but did rise while baking. Very different roll. Had the taste of a baking powder biscuit (don't know how with no baking powder) but the texture of a yeast roll. Very good. Will make again.

Vanilla Wafer Cookies

I did not think that these tasted at all like the boxed vanilla wafers. But I did think that they tasted wonderful! And they even seemed to get better after a couple of days (although I had to hide them from my husband to make them last that long!). Crispy and chewy at the same time. Really good. Thanks for the recipe.

Texas Chicken Quesadillas

Really good. Did make some changes. Used two roasted chicken breasts from the deli and skipped the barbecue sauce. Brushed the tortillas with taco sauce before putting chicken, onion and cheeses on top. The cooked onions in this were spectacular and really elevated this dish to something special. My husband and I both LOVED these quesadillas. Will certainly make again!

Italian Beef Sandwiches

Like everyone else raised in Chicago and no longer living there, I get such a taste for this sandwich from time to time. Have tried many different recipes and this is one of the best. Made just as directed, except that I just put minced garlic in the liquid instead of into the meat itself. Just the right amount of seasoning and very tender beef. Thanks much, Dick. We will make this again!

Rustic Multi-Grain Bread

This is a wonderful bread! I mixed the 1/2 cup water (heated to just warm) with the yeast and 1 T. of the sugar. Let sit while I mixed the dry ingredients. Mixed with other ingredients as written in recipe. Probably added about another cup of all-purpose flour. Used my Kitchenaid Mixer to knead the bread. Loved the method of forming the bread. Really pretty when it was done. Also, this bread holds together very well while still being light and very tasty. Great for sandwiches or toast. Thanks for the recipe, Dorothy.

Sugar Coated Pecans

Oh my! These are fantastic. Brought them to a friend as a hostess gift last night and they were a hit. I did follow one reviewer's advice and simply stirred the sugar mixture into the bowl of pecans and egg whites a third at a time. Worked just great. Also used parchment paper on my baking sheet and sprayed it lightly with cooking spray.

Shrimp Dip I

So yummy and so easy. Kept in the fridge for at least a week and brought out every once in awhile to serve with crackers. Will certainly make again. Next time might try a splash of shrimp sauce or a dash of Old Bay to amp up the flavor just a bit. Very good recipe!

Martha's Vegetable Beef Soup

This broth tasted good, but I won't make this again as I think that I am just not a fan of this kind of soup. If you like frozen mixed veggies, however, you will probably like this as well.
