Mom and Sleeping Jacob
About this Cook
My husband and I have a blended family with 5 children: ages 2 months to 19 years old. I stay at home with my youngest and my 2 year old right now and work part time two days a week in the evenings. My husband works out of San Antonio and is lucky enough to work from home 2 days of the week. Our children are our world!
My favorite things to cook
I love to bake cakes, however, I am not that good at it. I would love to learn to decorate them...take a class or something. My mom can decorate them. I don't know why I don't just have her teach me!
My favorite family cooking traditions
I haven't really created any traditions yet, but I do love when my kids help me bake cookies or brownies.
My cooking triumphs
I made a lovely layered German Chocolate Cake once for my dad's birthday. It was beautiful and delicious!
My cooking tragedies
I made the same layered German Chocolate Cake for another event and ruined it somehow. It was a disaster!

Slow Cooker Beef Stew IV
This recipe was delicious! My husband ate two heaping bowls of it before it was even done. Would be wonderful in the winter months.

Sour Cream Chocolate Chip Cake I
This recipe is absolutely scrumptious. Everyone just loved it. I had a little trouble getting the middle of the cake done well. Nevertheless, it was a hit!

Amusement Park Cornbread
This recipe is fabulous. I have cooked it multiple times. I do always have to double the time to get the middle done, but it's wonderful when finished. I also use equal parts of flour and cornmeal for a more traditional cornbread texture. Next time I will try baking it in a 9x13" pan. Thanks Trish! This recipe will be the cornbread recipe I use from now on.
