About this Cook
I'm 25 and married, with no children. I also have to bring only homemade food to every get together. I thank my mom for this! I used to think she was crazy always making things from scratch when asked to bring something. No matter how little of time she had she always did.
My favorite things to cook
I love to bake. Breads without yeast are always great. I love Italian, we go on huge pasta kicks at my house. I feel the most creative and brave when I make pasta. I am able to be very liberal with the spices which is something I am knew at. Growing up our food was always great, but very little spices were used. We never added salt and pepper to ANYTHING growing up. My hubby was raised just the opposite. It's been fun combining both of our cooking backgrounds.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Everything homemade! I remember my mom always pressed for time and complaining how she still had to make this and that. I would always tell her she was dumb and should just go buy premade piecrust or cookies. I never understood why she did so much work. Now i get it! Every time I complain to my husband about how much cooking I have to do and he suggests to buy pre-made crusts or just to but the dessert I get so offended! I don't know why but I pride myself on making things from scratch. Mom, I finally get you!!!
My cooking triumphs
My appetizers. Everyone loves whatever dish I bring to share, especially snacky items. My bacon wrapped stuffed mushrooms are always demanded! I hosted my first holiday for my family this year and my Thanksgiving feast turned out amazing!
My cooking tragedies
Too many to count! You win some and you lose some. Your cooking is never going to get better if you don't take some risks!

Todd's Famous Blueberry Pancakes
These are the first pancakes I made that turned out! For some reason I could never make pancakes. Silly I know! These turned out great! They were thick and moist.

Rosemary Roasted Turkey
Amazing! This was the 1st turkey I have ever made and it turned out great! This was by far the moistest turkey I have ever ate. I did brine it over night like another reviewer suggested and I think that made it a 5 star recipe. You can also vary the herbs a bit. I bought a pack of fresh poultry herbs which included rosemary, sage and thyme.
