I have always loved to cook! One of my earliest memories is being 8 years old and standing in front of the stove making homemade tortillas. I would have to say that the person that taught me the most about cooking would have to be my Dad. The most important thing he taught gave me were some of my grandmothers old recipes. And the best advice he gave me was to make everything with love and it would always test great!
My favorite things to cook
I love to cook anything that is traditional Mexican food such as my Moms green enchilada's (yummy)and I love to bake cakes or cookies.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Well I have just started my own traditions, yet this year was my second time to make a holiday meal for a group of people and I really enjoyed it. Yet I have helped my mother-in-law and I enjoy that.
My cooking triumphs
I guess I would have to say that I'm usually pretty proud when I have a recipe of Dad's or grandma's turn out halfway as good as theirs. But I think the thing I am most proud of is that my mother-in-law thinks I am a good cook and loves some of my dishes. She also asks me to make my dressing for the holidays that we spend with her. That is the highest compliment to me.
