About this Cook
I'm 31, married for 6 years, and have 2 boys - a 2 1/2 and an 8 month old. We just moved back to the Pittsburgh area from California via Connecticut.
My favorite things to cook
Chicken, Meatloaf, anything in the crock-pot. Mainly things that are easy and affordable to put on the table that taste better than fast food.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My mom and I always do something when we're together - homemade pierogies, polish pound cake, potato pancakes, pie crust.
My cooking triumphs
I've cooked a few Thanksgiving dinners. My favorite feat is potlucks - my appetizers are always raved about.
My cooking tragedies
I once made "Blondies" - and I added the eggs before letting the mix cool. I had little bits of scrambled eggs in the brownies! I also avoided baking cookies FOREVER because I always burned them. I found out that it was because I was not following the "ungreased" cookie sheet rule. Yuck!

Rosenmunnar
I was looking for a linzer-type recipe and decided to make these with my Christmas assortment last year. They were by far the favorite! Used Raspberry jam and added 1/2 tsp vanilla to batter. So simple and delicious. I had to make a second batch to take home to the family - the first batch was devoured quickly! I'm planning on taking these to my cookie exchange this year. Enjoy!

Sausage Casserole
This was great! My mother-in-law loved it even better than her own breakfast casserole! I couldn't find sage-flavored sausage, so I used original. I followed all the ingredients to a 'T'. I assembled the casserole the night before and then just popped it in the oven in the morning. It was great - I had no left-overs! Definitely rely on this recipe for your holiday company.

Mushroom Pork Chops
Sorry - I did not care for this recipe. I was looking for a good pork chop recipe as opposed to the standard shake-n-bake fare. The meat was like rubber and the sauce was very bland. I wound up tossing the leftovers since no one would eat them!
