Tasty, easy and quick. I left in the garlic as I'm a big fan!

Old Time Soft Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Apr. 5, 2011
Just what I was looking for - and for them to turn out as well as they did with the changes I had to scramble and make, a 5 star recipe all the way! Didn't have as much butter flavor Crisco as I thought, so had to do half Crisco, half butter. Ran out of white flour (which never happens!) and had to substitute a cup of whole wheat flour. Didn't read head to notice that they needed to chill and had a house of 6 hungry 5-8 year olds, so I just put in the oven immediately on an ungreased cookie sheet. They turned out great. Nice subtle flavor, lovely soft cookies.

Very good and very easy. I didn't have enough Brown Sugar and just used white sugar. A big hit at the kiddos slumber party.

So simple! Looks very impressive - I can't believe how easy it was. I used McCormick food coloring and McCormick Strawberry extract. The kids love it.

Delicious and simple. I used fresh jalapeno peppers and black eyed peas that I soaked overnight then boiled in homemade chicken stock. If you use reduced fat dressing, this is practically a Zero-point item on the Weight Watchers Simply Filling program.

Pizza Dough III

Excellent dough. I was a little dubious abt it at first because it was so sticky, but I coated the bowl w/a Tbs of olive oil, rolled the dough ball to cover and let it rise. Made an easy to manipulate soft dough that translated into a delicious crust. I'll use again.

Love this recipe - almost identical to the Grandma's Molasses Gingerbread Scone recipe, except that one calls for 1/2 C milk.

Sour Cream Pumpkin Bundt Cake

Reviewed: Nov. 22, 2010
This cake is more delicious than any cake has a right to be..... As with most baked goods, it was tastier on day 2. I screwed up and used 2 Tablespoons of butter for the streusel, which in hindsight was a big plus. Everything about this cake was moist, delicious and irresistible!

Banana Sour Cream Bread

Reviewed: Jul. 2, 2010
Very good. I accidentally used 1 cup of butter instead of 3/4 and everything still turned out fine. I only had two bread pans so made the rest as muffins and they were delicious. I topped some of the muffins with Heath Bar brickle - yummy!

Easy Apple Strudel

Reviewed: Jan. 7, 2010
Excellent recipe. I used Granny Smith apples, golden raisins. Imagine that it might be sweet if one used another variety of apple..... My only advice/tip would be to flip the freshly 'wrapped' streudel over so the doubled dough forms the bottom and the single layer becomes the top. I made vent slices in the top and sprinkled with coarse sugar.

Ground Chicken Gumbo

Reviewed: Oct. 11, 2009
Delicious. I have a garden full of okra and green peppers and this used up a good portion of both. I gave it a 4 star b/c I thought the ground chicken was rather odd. We used chopped up chicken breast and are planning on making again with shrimp. This isn't a spicy gumbo, but a traditional gumbo isn't meant to be hot - rather a subtle blend of flavor. Tabasco is traditionally served on the side for those who prefer a little more 'fire'.

Ultimate Chicken Fingers

Reviewed: Apr. 22, 2009
These were great! Quick to make and the family loved them. I used Garlic Salt rather than regular and also used the butter as directed. They had great flavor and I was pleased with how the breading turned out. Let's be honest - they're not deep fried, so you're not going to get that thick, hard crunchy breading. But this was a very close oven baked copy. We'll be making these again.

Absolutely wonderful. Great flavor, easy to make, looks very impressive when you pull it out of the oven. As stated in the recipe, the dough is EXTREMELY sticky, but the bread turned out well. I'll be making this year-round.

Lemon Sugar Tea Cookies

Reviewed: Feb. 11, 2009
Wonderful recipe. I substituted honey for the corn syrup and used lemon zest and the juice of a small lemon in place of the extract. I slightly increased my flour to make up the difference. Cookies had a great taste, but are slightly tricky to bake. Keep an eye on them, no matter what the timer says. Mine needed a few extra minutes. Highly recommend using the parchment paper.
