Cake Balls

Waste of time, waste of ingredents. I used orange cake and vanilla frosting with orange zest grated in. The balls never set even after freezing, they were terrible to dip, I had to use more than twice the chocolate it called for, They looked sloppy and tasted like mushy cake. I didn't have access to the reviews to learn about modifications but we don't rate on modifications, as written this is a 1 star. The cookie ball recipe on this site is much much better.

Golden Coconut Pie

I really liked this it eas like a crunchy macaroon on top. The only thing is the bottom of the grust did not get very crisp it was a little soggy.

Spicy Pear Cookies

I am not usually of fan of soft cookies, but these were great. I used dark brown sugar and dried cranberries instead of raisins. They were so moist. I did not use the glase as they were plenty sweet on their own. Very nice change from the oatmeal raisin. Excellent autumn cookie.

Dipped Coconut Shortbread

These were great! I loved the hint of coconut and the chocolate was perfect. I sprinkled some toasted coconut on the chocolate and it looked really pretty. It does not make a huge batch so I would double if making for a group.

Bavarian Apple Torte

This was beautiful to look at but I wasn not overall impressed with the taste. It was not very sweet and the cream cheese layer seperated from the apples making it difficult to serve. The crust once chilled stuck to the bottom of my pan and was not very good at all.

Apple Squares

While these were good I was hoping for something a little more stable. I agree with the reviewer that said this was more like a cake. I doubled the recipe for a 9x13 pan and used 3 cups of chopped cortland apples. It was a nice cake but not what I would consider "bars" I think a crumb topping would go great on this and then call it an apple coffeecake.

Poblano Chile Enchiladas a la Gringa

These were ok, for the time and the hassel I would find a better enchilada recipe. The poblano sauce tasted bitter to me.
