About this Cook
I LOOOOOOVE food! These days you cant go to the super market or local bookshop without running across fablously gorgeous books and magazines full of amazing photos of FOOD! I find food beautiful, inspiring, challenging and of course Tasty :)
My favorite things to cook
Baking is probably my favorite form of cooking. Its so decoratve and you can really be creative. Meat can only be so pretty, but a perfectly frosted cake or a steaming loaf of bread can really inspire a person.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My family is a mixture of Southern and Midwestern and very, very American. Anything from speghetti to fried chicken to tacos was always good on the menu when growing up.
My cooking triumphs
The best triumphs I've had with cooking are probably the highly rated recipes from this website. You guys make me look good :)
My cooking tragedies
I once made a flat, green cake. It was terrible and Ive no idea why it was green. But live and learn, and the lesson here is: when experimenting, use things you know will be good until you're alot more experianced!

Sweet Potato Pie IV
this is a YUMMY pie! definitely make sure you only use about 2 cups of potato (ie 1 very large potato) - the one i used nearly filled the (deep dish) crust to the top! the only bad thing about this recipe is that I ate WAY too big of a peice and now am uncomfortably full!

Brown Sugar Sauce
this is a really yummy, easy, caramel type sauce. i give it 5 stars, for flavor and origionality. though it turned a little weird, which was my fault, because i poured it over ice cream and promptly put it in the freezer - it got kind of a puddinglike consistancy which was funky, so i dont advise doing that! great flavor though! quick fix when you dont have alot of ingredients!
