Muesli

Reviewed: Aug. 28, 2008
I used Splenda Brown Sugar Blend and only 1/2 the amount called for in the recipe (as is the case with Splenda blends) and we LOVE this!! My children and I eat this whole batch within two days of making it so we've gone to at least doubling or tripling it. We eat 1 cup at a time with soy milk. My son and I microwave it for 1:30 and my daughter eats it cold. THANK you for this wonderful, healthy, satisfying, hearty Muesli!

Baked Teriyaki Chicken

Reviewed: Mar. 11, 2008
I doubled the sauce and basically let the thighs "swim" while they baked. Absolutely deliciious!! The whole famiily loved this and hubby took the left-overs for lunch the next day. His co-workers were so jealous! I made fried rice, egg rolls (frozen), steamed dumplings, and noodles to complement the delicious teriyaki!! Definite do-again!!!

Chicken Florentine Casserole

Reviewed: Jan. 25, 2007
This was very bland, too much spinach, and just okay. Now don't get me wrong, my family loves spinach and we love chicken - but there just was not a whole lot of flavor in this recipe. I will probalby not make this again.

My family absolutely loves these. I've made them several times. I take a roast and cook it all day long with green peppers and the spices recommended. I am so thrilled to have found this recipe and method. It can be used for so many other types of meats and spices! Thank you!

Amish White Bread

Reviewed: Dec. 25, 2006
I made this for the first time for Christmas dinner. It was the HIT of the dinner!!! I made it exactly as the recipe stated except I made four mini loaves instead of two regular sized loaves. It cooked for about 25 minutes instead of 30. It is very moist, fluffy, and just slightly sweet. My husband and children just raved and ate one whole mini-loaf between the three of them!! Definite keeper and do again! Thank you!!! Addendum - I made this a second time using 1/2 whole wheat flour and 1/2 white bread flour. It is (in my opinion) even BETTER! I didn't think that was possible! Absolutely delicious.

Gramma Brown's Corn Chowder

Reviewed: Dec. 16, 2006
This was just okay for me. My family loved it, but I thought it was rather bland. I took the advice of others and saved the bacon until the end and used frozen corn rather than canned. Maybe if I make it again I will add some spices or something, I dunno. Just 'eh' for me.

Pork and Shrimp Pancit

Reviewed: Dec. 14, 2006
My family all thought this was okay. My husband and son did NOT like the rice noodles and only ate the "topping". My daughter and I liked the rice noodles but thought the "topping" was okay, not a whole lot of flavor in my opinion. I may make this again but serve it over rice with some additional spices.

Get a Husband Brunswick Stew

Reviewed: Dec. 14, 2006
Pretty good. My daughter and husband thought it was wonderful, my son said it was okay (but he is a very picky eater). I thought it tasted like bbq pork or something. I had some ground lamb so I added that as well. I may make this again, but it is not a MUST do again.

I made these individually as opposed to one large "pie". It was really good, my kids even ate it! I can't give it 5 stars as I'm not sure I would make it again. It was really good, but not a MUST do again.

Big Soft Ginger Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 14, 2006
Wonderful! I have made these three or four times and every time they are gone in two days! I substituted at least 1/2 of the flour with whole wheat flour (sometimes I used more, sometimes less, but always at least 1/2). I also substituted Splenda and about 1/8 cup honey for the sugar. They are really soft and chewy, wonderfully aromatic, and delicious! Thank you for this recipe!

Absolutely wonderful!! I used 1/2 wheat and 1/2 white flour. I also substituted the white sugar with Splenda and a touch of honey and used Splenda Brown Sugar Blend (a little over 1/2 cup). These are SOOOOOO good, chewy, and delicious!!

Pretty good. My husband and daughter loved it, I just thought it was alright. Kind of bland even though I added more soy sauce, pepper, and garlic powder. It needs something, I'm just not sure what. Maybe even more soy sauce.

Slow Cooker Chicken Stroganoff

Reviewed: Nov. 21, 2006
It was okay. My kids and husband really enjoyed it, otherwise I would have given it 3 stars. It needed more spices, I believe, but I'm not sure. I added 1/2 can of chicken broth because I was going to be out all day and didn't want to risk it burning with no liquid. I served it over egg noodles. I may make this again, but it's not a "must-do".

It was pretty good, but in my opinion not five star worthy. We used chicken, so maybe it would be better with pork. If I make it again I will make it with pork and may change my review at that time.
