About this Cook
I am a grandmother that enjoys cooking for family and friends. Athough I travel 46 weeks of of the year, I look forward to getting home to my husband and my stove...and in that order!
My favorite things to cook
I enjoy cooking huge pots of food, after which I can and freeze for my husband's meals while I travel with my job.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Mom had dibs on Thanksgiving. She loved the huge feast and getting all of the family together for which she did all of the cooking.
My cooking triumphs
I would have to say that I even impressed myself when I made SWEET POTATO CHEESECAKE. It looked like a picture out of a magazine and my husband ooh-ed and ah-ed with every bite.
My cooking tragedies
As a young cook, I learned that you should never empty the last part of the bag of thawing french fries to hot grease. With this experience, I did learn how to take my oven apart to clean it, so it was not a complete tragedy!

Fancy Hamburgers
This does not work as FANCY HAMBURGERS. Making the recipe exactly as written made a ground meat concoction that was too runny and could not make patties. Instead, I placed it in a loaf pan and made a sweet meatloaf, cooking it for an hour at 350 degrees. My husband and I would give FANCY MEATLOAF five stars.

Hot Pizza Dip
My friend just called and said, "Your great Hot Pizza Dip is cordially invited to the party on Saturday night and it can bring two guests. LOL"

Bread Machine Rolls
This is so simple to make and so good. I no longer buy bread for sandwiches. I make several baggies of dry ingredients in advance; then add wet ingredients in the bread machine. Dividing into 12 rolls makes dinner; into 8 Hoagie-sizes makes great sandwiches.
