Baked Ziti I

Good, I was a little short on ingredients (provalone) and time, but I used sliced mozzarella and it was very good, I will experiment with the flavor a little since it was a tad bit bland, could have been my jarred sauce. Also cut it in half and could have made even less it made more than I was expecting.

BBQ Pork for Sandwiches

VERY GOOD AND INEXPENSIVE! I WANTED TO TRY THIS BUT WAS LOW ON FUNDS SO I BOUGHT A 2 LB PORK ROAST FOR LESS THAN 5 BUCKS. DIDNT BOTHER WITH THE BEEF BROTH BECAUSE I DIDNT HAVE ANY. IT WAS GREAT WITH JUST WATER AND WAS DEVOURED, SERVED WITH BAKED BEANS AND POTATO SALAD. I WILL TRY IT AGAIN WITH BEEF BROTH

Lime Cilantro Rice

good starter recipe... after making this a few times I have the following changes, sautee rice with the butter in the skillet first, instead of water use chicken broth. for my own personal tastes I doubled the cilantro cooked half with the rice and put the other half in at the last few mins of cooking. also used a little more lime. I love chipotle's rice and this is even better. My whole family loves this!

Southern Chicken Fried Steak

just getting around to rating this..ive been making it this way for a while now, ive only ever used cube steak and i have to add alot more seasonings than called for, garlic, red pepper, chili powder, onion powder salt pepper and cajun seasoning. its always devoured at my house and we do make gravy to go on top.

a little bland, next time i will add jalepeno and green chili possible a little cream cheese to hold it together better and some seasonings (garlic at the minimum). good base and possibilites are endless thanks for the idea!

Crab Puffs

Ok so this was a good starting point. I had my pregnant sister over who was craving crab puffs but didnt want the crab. I made as is and used shrimp bullion and sauteed minced green and white onion and also a little garlic for hers. I made mine the regular way with canned crab and I kinda liked the ones I made for her better.

Im a huge fan of garlic bread, this didnt have as much flavor as I like but was still good with dinner. Next time I will try one of the recipes with olive oil in it.

This was good, next time I might cut the sugar in half because it was a little sweet. Im sure it was the combo of sweet sausage and sugar. But all in all it was great and eaten by all.

Stuffed Green Peppers I

Ill start off by saying My bf doesnt eat bell peppers so he just ate the filling...I got two thumbs up. I made for family and friends, mostly people that have never had a stuffed pepper and everyone liked it. I did slice peppers in half lenghtwise to make more and doubled the recipe. I used twice the rice called for and used minute brown rice. I also mixed ground turkey with the ground beef and added half a pack of Italian dressing mix.

Juicy Roasted Chicken

This was really good, I had a whole chicken and needed to make room i my freezer. I seasoned with salt pepper and added a little onion and garlic powder. When i did the butter inside I added lemon slices instead of celery because i didnt have any and also placed a few on the outside. Chopped up some red potatoes and seasoned them well. Placed them around the chicken as it baked. Turned out great!

Award Winning Soft Chocolate Chip Cookies

These were very good and I wanted to give it a 5 start rating but the best big fat chocoloate cookie wins in my eyes. I made mine with pecans instead of walnuts based on what I had at the house. They had very good flavor.

Best Big, Fat, Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookie

Baked these and another cookie from the site last night for my man who loves choc chip cookis. Liked these better than the award winning choc chip cookies. My cousin who was over at the house liked the other one more. Ill just keep them both in rotation but to me these were exactly what I was looking for. *Edit* 8/2/09 Made these cookies again and realized I was supposed to melt the butter instead of cream softened butter, they were better the first time.

Refried Beans Without the Refry

very versatile. i have made this three times since getting the recipe off of the site. first time exactly as written, it was a little too spicy for my tastes but there was none left at my family gathering. Second time used less jalepeno and put a little chili powder in after mashing, very good. Third time used a little butter, and a tblsp of sour cream. topped with cheese at the end it was super good.

Whipping Cream Pound Cake

MY MOM MAKES THIS CAKE FOR ME EVERY YEAR FOR MY BIRTHDAY SINCE I WAS YOUNG(AT MY REQUEST) I ACTUALLY WATCHED HER MAKE IT YESTERDAY FOR MY BDAY AND IT IS ALMOST EXACTLY HER RECIPE. SHE USES HALF LEMON AND HALF VANILLA EXTRACT. THIS RECIPE HAS BEEN IN THE FAMILY FOR DECADES AND I FOUND IT ONLINE WHO WOULD HAVE THOUGHT! I LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS CAKE!*edit* she also cooks this cake for about 1 hr at 325 and turns down the oven to 300 for the last 20-25 mins based off of the oven and how fast its browing.
