About this Cook
I live in WI, with hubby, 2 teenage daughters and a dog! My kids have been in the kitchen with me learning how to cook, since they were toddlers!
My favorite things to cook
Lasagna for Christmas Eve dinner Baking bread Making healthy, tasty meals
My favorite family cooking traditions
Lasagna on Christmas Eve
My cooking triumphs
Making the egg bake that always is finished first, at any church breakfast function! My family is often lucky if we get a piece. One year, we didn't!
My cooking tragedies
A coffee cake baked in a tube pan, that fell apart, when I took it out of the pan. I still took it to the Easter breakfast, because it tasted fine, just looked a little weird!

Toffee Bars
Made this as a treat for a Lenten soup/sandwich supper tonight. My daughter and I thought it was delicious. It was so easy to make, too. I did make it in a 13x9" pan, and baked for 16 minutes. It was very chewy. Went to look for pan, before church service started and it was gone. Another woman told me it was one of the first things that were gone. Another church member asked for the recipe. Chocolate was still gooey, when we took it to church. Yum! Will make again!

Pumpkin-Apple Muffins with Streusel Topping
Yummy muffins! I only used 1/3 cup sugar and substituted 1 tsp cinnamon, 1/2 tsp ginger, 1/4 allspice and 1/4 tsp nutmeg, for the pumpkin pie spice. We thought they were delicious and will make them again! I can't wait to make them for my daughter who's away at college. They went nicely with our chili on a very blustery, snowy night.

Pumpkin Bread
This pumpkin bread is delicious! I was worried that it called for too much nutmeg, but I loved it! Apparently, my dog thought it was delicious, too, since she grabbed half a loaf off the table and ate most of it! LOL! We all loved it!
