About this Cook
I'm married to a great guy and the mother of 3 boys and 1 girl, my oldest is 20 my youngest is 3. I taught Family and Consumer Sciences (Home Economics) at the High School level until my daughter was born and have been a homemaker ever since. My husband began his general contracting business while I was pregnant, so I help him when possible especially with the "office" kinds of stuff. I have been cooking since I was really young. I am the daughter of a Home Economist who believed kids belong in the kitchen and made cooking fun and interesting, a favorite activity to do with my mother all growing up. I do the same with my children! I would love to open my own little cafe/restaurant someday.
My favorite things to cook
I love to make desserts of all kinds, breads, and homemade soups and noodles. There really isn't anything that I have found that I don't like to cook/bake/mix up...I do love the baked goods things the most though, but I would have to say EVERYTHING is my favorite thing to cook!
My favorite family cooking traditions
My family spent many hours together having "fun" with cooking. When I was little bitty (my earliest memories that I have from childhood, when I was 2 or 3, I remember helping my mother make and decorate Christmas cookies. A tradition I have carried on with my children and sometims Grandma comes to help!

Banana Nut Bread II
I mashed up my bananas and added everything to my bread pan and let the machine mix it up...I had to use a spatula in the corners during mixing cycle, but it mixed up good. I used 3 VERY RIPE bananas. I also added some cinnamon and vanilla and pecans instead of walnuts. The bread tasted amazing, however it didn't get completely done in my tall bread pan in the machine, so I stuck it in the oven for 10 or 15 minutes more. As far as flavor goes, this was delicious, however I think that I will bake it in the oven next time...waiting over 3 hours for one loaf of banana bread, A QUICK bread...lol...is a little silly.

Simply White Bread II
This bread is SO EASY to make and tastes great. I used my electric knife to cut and it didn't crumble-every slice was shaped nicely. I used this recipe and added another tablespoon (1/4 c. total) of honey to make "sweetrolls" in which rolled out, sprinkled with melted butter, cinnamon & sugar, and raisins) rolled them up and sliced, then baked in the oven and frosted. They were amazing! I recommend it, especially to moms with young ones (6 & 2) that like to help "cook"...I don't think you can make this bread and have it turn out bad!
