About this Cook
Love to cook for the holidays and a house full of people. My mother was my greatest cooking influence. My favorite cooking experience of late was making vegetarian chili and finding ways to incorporate more veggies and less meat into my diet.
My favorite things to cook
Chili is one of my favorites. Easy & it tastes great. Also really like making quick breads.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My mother's cloverleaf rolls . . . to die for. Mom also made tons of cookies around Christmas time, especially.
My cooking triumphs
Cinnamon-pecan rolls from scratch. I was so daunted by making a bread dough from scratch, but it was really not that hard at all! Cheesecake is another one I have accomplished.
My cooking tragedies
I once made an Indian dish too hot for my family to eat. Also, I once baked fish in the oven and put the glass dish on the stovetop. Apparently it was too much of a temperature change for the glass to handle because the whole thing just went "TINK" and the glass plan shattered into shards, which fell to the floor. THAT was scary!

Hearty Garlic Potato Soup
Very tasty. Added a little red pepper flakes for some kick.

Roast Sticky Chicken-Rotisserie Style
Pretty good; very spicy. Great to have the spice mix on-hand for easy prep. Keeper recipe.

Ali's Greek Tortellini Salad
Tasty and light. Good Lenten dish and good for a light meal on a warm day. Could use a little more dressing.
