About this Cook
I was raised in the country and we made bread every Saturday for the following week. My Mom would have cooking classes with my sisters and me. Each getting to make a cookie recipe of our choice. I started cooking at a young age. My tastes have changed and widened over the years to a variety of foods including Italian and Mexican foods.
My favorite things to cook
Italian, and Mexican foods. My favorite ingredients for foods are cheese, or garlic, or pastas.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Cheesecakes for birthdays instead of regular cake. The traditions have changed since the kids are now grown and gone. Sometimes it is Lasagna for Christmas, or what ever strikes our taste buds. Comfort foods are I guess the one strong and true tradition.
My cooking triumphs
Our favorite cheesecake that we make for Birthdays.
My cooking tragedies
Well everyone burns something at least once in their life. Or there is the forgotten ingredient, oops. But all are learning experiences that make us better cooks.

Honey Bun Cake
Tasted really good. It was very moist. I used homeade applesauce. Will make this again sometime. I gave some away to a neighbor that later came back and asked for the recipe.

Taco-Stuffed Pepper Cups
I was looking for a healthier mexican alternative and found this. I liked it but hubby is not thrilled with peppers instead of tortillas or taco shells. I added corn instead of beans because I had some homeade refried beans that I put a layer on top along with some guacamole and light sour cream. It won't replace traditional tacos for us but I would make it again on occasion.

Fiesta Pinwheels
I made these exactly as the recipe calls for. They are great. It made a lot for just the two of us. Would be great for a party appetizer. They also freeze well. Just thaw in the refrigerator when you want them. We will make them again.
