About this Cook
I am 61 years old and have been happily married for 41 years. I have 2 grown children and 4 grandchildren. My son and his family live nearby and my daughter and her family live 3 hours away.
My favorite things to cook
I love cooking things I can be creative with. I love presentation and the WOW factor!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Every Easter I hold the annual Easter Egg Hunt. Each year it grows more as the family expands.
My cooking triumphs
My sister and I made my mother's wedding cake; when, as a widow she married one of my dad's friends.
My cooking tragedies
While delivering a cake to my husband's workplace, my little one sat on it! (It was on the backseat and in the 70's you didn't have seatbelts.) I took the cake home, called hubby and the guys said "bring it anyway!" Fortunately, it had plastic wrap. Also, I set off the fire alarm at Disney World's Fort Wilderness while cooking bacon. The fire car came with it's lights flashing. It was soooo embarrassing.

Mom's Zucchini Bread
EXCELLENT! Very moist and delicious. I cut the recipe in half as there are only two of us. A friend had given me a bag of zucchini; so while I had my little mess made, I grated all the zucchini and placed a cup full in zip lock bags and froze for later ease in making this again. This is a genuine "keeper". Thank you v monte for sharing!

Steak on a Stick
This was a major hit tonight! I used London broil in place of flank steak. I cut it into strips and pounded them before marinating. I only marinated for 4 hours as I was short on time. I placed the skewers on the grill for a few minutes on each side. They were very tender and juicy, couldn't have tasted any better. This is a definite 5 star recipe that I would highly recommend. Thank you Dominique Lynne for sharing.

Easy Chocolate Sherbet
This is a very rich chocolate dessert but I am a chocoholic! I threw all the ingredients in a blender, then froze in a glass dish stirring every 1/2 hour. When it was done, I found it to need another 1 1/2 cups of water. I used 1 tsp. almond extract in place of amaretto. Thank you Warning Monkey Bites for sharing.
