I didn't enjoy cooking until I ate a great meal. Since then I've challenged myself to make a meal that made taste buds sing and my palette dance. I've grown my own herbs and challenged new recipes. Since I've begun cooking for myself (moving from a sinky!), I've hosted party and gathering where people ask for recipes and offer there's for enhancement through fresh herbs. I've found a new enjoyment and satisfaction through cooking... and not just baking or boxing it. But true cooking.
My favorite things to cook
Vegetarian and tasty meat dishes for friends and family. I enjoy combining the extravagant with the enhanced everyday staples. Combining flavors that compliment the remaining dishes... finishing, with a subtle desert, tea, or wine. It's truly become a joy.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Fall... the stews, soups, baking... Sunday cooking after the long cool meals from the summer. It's warm and cozy.
My cooking triumphs
A salad that even the biggest meat anti veggie person loves and helps themselves to seconds. A strawberry feta salad... not on here yet, but it makes the palette dance with 7 different herbs excluding the dressing, which is a light vinaigrette.
My cooking tragedies
Oh so many... you name it, I've done it. From ruining a holiday meal to burning cookies, Oh! this one makes you feel good when you burn your child's birthday cake! But, I simply didn't pay attention because I didn't enjoy what I was making... when you enjoy what you are making it's much easier to pay attention and since you enjoy what your making you make a lot so one small tragedy is rarely noticed.
