Potato Latkes I

I used my food processor to shred the potatoes, used dehydrated onion instead of fresh (to save time), and fried in olive oil. Happy Chanukkah!

Beef Taco Bake

I'm giving this a four instead of five for the simple fact that the recipe as is does not call for spices of any kind. I added a package of taco seasoning and used flour tortillas instead of corn. I like both, but for the sake of trying something new, I used flour, and it was amazing! I lined the bottom of the pan w/a nice layer of torn pieces of flour tortillas, then added the meat mixture. Once done, the tortillas on the very bottom had a nice golden crispiness to them while the rest were hot and almost chewy (in a good way, hard to describe here). It's reminiscent of the good fried burritos I loved as a kid.

Best Peanut Butter Cookies Ever

I can't believe how great these cookies turned out!! I would've never thought that using just 3 ingredients would make such awesome, chewy cookies. My family loves them & they're easy enough for my 3 girls to make them.

Cheese Garlic Biscuits II

Wow! These are great & not difficult to make at all! I made some of these to add to the gift basket I made my sister for Christmas. My sister just moved into her first house and doesn't really know how to cook, so I printed the recipe for her favorite dish (linguini & clam sauce) included all the ingredients, lined the basket with a nice kitchen towel & all the necessary utensils. The bisuits were a wonderful addition since she would never have made them herself!

Licorice Caramels

This has got to be the best caramel I've ever had! I don't even like black licorice & this is delicious. The anise flavor isn't overwhelming & you can customize to suit your preference. I colored mine red for the holidays and am giving this as a gift to my grandmother who loves black licorice. They're simple to wrap in wax paper & look like professional candies!

Cranberry Gelatin Salad I

I've made this with Thanksgiving two years in a row now. It's a great way to serve cranberries & everyone loves it! I use Ocean spray cranberry sauce w/whole cranberries. I play with the jello flavors~ last year I used cranberry flavored jello, this year I used cherry. They were both great!

My Amish Friend's Caramel Corn

If I could give this more stars, I would! This is the absolute best caramel corn recipe, hands down! It's easy, the caramel has a rich, creamy flavor, & it's crunchy! I think I'll try it with almonds or pecans, or maybe mixed nuts next time. I'm giving this wonderful delight packaged in pretty tins for Christmas this year.

Apple Pie by Grandma Ople

I've never made apple pie before, but this was soooooooo easy and delicious. My father's favorite pie is apple, so it was very important to me that it was delicious. He told me it was better than Granny Smith's & the best he's ever had! Thanks for sharing!

Sweet Dinner Rolls

These are good, but if you're expecting crescent rolls like Pillsbury, these aren't it. They really expand to become very large; I cut small sheaths to roll up & they made a perfect crescent roll size.
