Sweet Potato Casserole VII

I love sweet potatoes but my family does not. I still insist on serving them though. I made this recipe instead of my usual one. It tasted the same as what I normally serve but something about the presentation - my family ate it! Now I have to make and bring the sweet potatoes to Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners!

Caterpillar Cake

I made this for my daughter's 2nd birthday. I used Jr Mints for the eyes, M&M's for the back, orange slices for the feet, and surrounded it with green colored coconut flakes and some chocolate rocks. It was a big hit and I still get compliments from people when they see the pictures.

Watergate Salad

Just like my grandmother used to make! I make this often now that I found this recipe. I make it w/o the cherries though and sometimes add a small amount of finely shredded apple pieces, like my grandmother did.

Whipped Butternut Squash

The recipe is good but I guess it was simply just not what I was looking for. It wasn't as sweet as I would have liked. I added some maple syrup to it before anyone in the house would eat it.

Roasted Pumpkin Seeds

Hot Cocoa Mix

Sorry, but I am a cocoa snob. I found this recipe as it is watery & bland. I added more cocoa powder & a lot more powdered milk as well as creamer to the mix before I was done. I am thankful to the submitter for a starting place. I am working with this recipe to make a hot chocolate recipe that is perfect for me :)

Apple-Topped Chops

I made this as written, except for the cloves (I hate clove). The dish was a hit! Very flavorful, and well liked. I think next time I might add more nutmeg to make up for the missing cloves. I cut the apples thinner than called for (I got carried away) & it didn't need the full cook time; I don't know if it's because the apples were thinner or just my oven, but they cooked for me in an hour & 15.

Peanut Butter Pancakes

I made these when I discovered I didn't have the ingredients for another recipe I had started. I chose these because of the simple (& on hand ingredients) and my daughters love of peanut butter. They were very good. They cook at a lower temp, fluff up higher, and are more filling than other pancakes. I, like others have mentioned, substituted milk & sugar for the evaporated milk.

Monkey Bread Made Easy

I don't know if my rating should count since I modified the recipe but here's what I did: I used apple pie spice instead of cinnamon. I placed 4 pieces the spice coated dough into the muffin cup then added a tablespoon of apple pie filling & topped with a couple more pieces of dough before adding the butter mixture (also made w/apple pie spice). The result was great & well loved. My sister-in-law already requested it for Christmas breakfast! One "muffin" was very filling! This is one recipe I will make again & again!

Cake Balls

I was looking for a chocolate/hazelnut recipe when i tried these. I made them with a little (1tsp each of) peanut butter & Nutella in a chocolate cake, then mixed with a blend of chocolate frosting & Nutella. For a coating I used chocolate with a tsp of Nutella & hazelnuts. Adding the Nutella made the candy coating thicker so I needed more. The results were rich, chocolaty, to die for cake balls! Everyone liked them & the size made them perfect for our cookout.

Chocolate Hazelnut Cake

Loved it!! Although I did make a change or two the second time, not that the original recipe needed it. I added two TBSP of peanut butter to some cool whip for the topping ( I didn't have the called for ingredients) and we used some Nutella in-between the layers of cake. Yummy!

Broccoli Ham Ring

I don't know if I should rate this or not. I made this today but I used cheddar cheese and red onions. I cooked this in a glass pie pan and needed to cook it a tad longer (about 10 min). It was a big hit with the entire family (I have two under 5yrs).

Brownies with Peanut Butter Fudge Frosting

I made this topping today and put it over a dark choclate cake. It is wonderful! I made a bundt cake so I didn't use alot of the frosting. I used the leftover frosting as a dip. We have dipped apples, pretzels, and such, and we are currently looking for more things to dip! This recipe is a keeper!
