About this Cook
I recently finished college and started a full time job, so it does not leave me much time for some of my favorite hobbies, cooking and baking! I try and cook dinner every night and have a very big fan of my cooking at home, my boyfriend. He is always willing to try my new dishes and most of the time loves them. My dog, kami always enjoys my cooking too because I always manage to drop bits and pieces of food on the floor and she is always there to make sure the floor stays clean! :) Hopefully I keep getting better as I go, a friend of mine showed me this site and so far it definitely has been helping!
My favorite things to cook
My absolute favorite thing to do is bake, I love making cakes! I like being creative with cakes, the only down side is how long they take to make. I just started getting back into cooking and I’ve been very happy with the results...I recently made some amazing chili, this will definitely become a favorite!
My favorite family cooking traditions
My mom was always a stay-at-home mom and she made great food. It’s because of her that I have a love for cooking, she taught me all the basics. My mom and I love to cook together whenever we get the chance. Someday when I have a family of my own, I hope I can start my own traditions and maybe someday my kids can say that some of the best times they spent with their mom were in the kitchen.
My cooking triumphs
A biggest triumph for me is getting an idea for a cake and then actually carrying out the idea to the end. The best reward when baking cakes and putting all that hard work into them is seeing people’s faces when they see the cake for the first time. When it comes to cooking, my recent achievement would have to be my soups like my Italian Sausage Tortellini Soup, yum!
My cooking tragedies
I have had a lot of tragedies in the kitchen...sometimes when I cook or bake things they just don’t turn out the way I envisioned them...but I guess that’s part of practicing. One of my biggest pet peeves when it comes to cooking is when the finished product just does not look as good as you wanted it to turn out...I believe visual presentation means a lot when serving food.

Chicken Piccata II
This was really tasty...I added some salt and pepper to the flour mixture to give it more flavor. Also, I followed others advice and placed the chicken in the oven at 250 degrees while the sauce was cooking. I served this chicken over linguine with an alfredo sauce, a lemon slice and some garlic bread. Delicious!

Smooth and Creamy Peanut Butter Pie
Wow! This was amazing! After reading the reviews, I made a few changes. I used one cup of peanut butter and only one cup of sugar. I topped the pie off with heath bars crushed into little pieces, caramel and chocolate syrup, yum!
