About this Cook
I am a mother of two, a three year old girl and a 6 month old boy. My husband is in the USCG and we are currently stationed in Kodiak. I started cooking for my family really young and haven't stopped since. In high school I took cake decorating lessons and went to culinary school during and after I graduated high school. I cake decorated and cooked in resturants until I stopped to focus on starting a family. I still love to cook and bake for my family and friends but my real passion is cake decorating, finding the time to do it is harder now. I can't wait till my kids are old enough to teach them, my 3 year old is already a big help in the kitchen.
My favorite things to cook
Not much I don't like to cook. I love to bake, make sushi, mexican food and love to try new dishes. At least once a week we eat something new from this site.
My favorite family cooking traditions
We would help bake trays of cookies and other sweets a week or so before christmas and than my mom would have us take them to neighbors and friends, I looked forward to doing the same with my kids.
My cooking triumphs
My biggest triumph should have been my biggest tragedies. When I made my little sisters wedding cake I made it without any oil! No one ever knew infact I didn't know until days later when I started thinking about it. I had to make this cake in another state and was out of my comfort zone doing so.
My cooking tragedies
I can't think of anything huge, but last year was the second time that I cooked a turkey in my life and I didn't remove the giblets and neck out of the cavity of the bird, I didn't feel them in there and cooked it with the package in.

Vanilla Crepes
Great taste! We love crepes and this is the 1st one I have tried from this site, not sure if I will try another cause it was very taste. I love vanilla and this was just what I was looking for, served them with powder sugar and blueberries and the whole family enjoyed them.

Garlic Teriyaki Edamame
I loved these, was looking for something to do with Edamames glad I found something. My two year liked them also, although I think next time I make them I will removed the beans from the pod after the water has been boiled to absorb some of the flavoring. The pods are to hard to eat so might as well take them out.
