Best Ever Banana Bread

Reviewed: Dec. 31, 2009
Wow was this loaf moist and delicious. It was better than any mix I've ever used and any recipes I've tried. They've always been dry or bland, but this recipe was perfect. You can make your own buttermilk - I didn't have any so I added 1/2 tbsp of white vinegar to the 1/3 cup milk and let it curdle for 5 minutes. My husband said it was the best banana bread he's ever had. Into the recipe box this one goes. Thank you Rose!!

Fluffy Pancakes

Reviewed: Oct. 25, 2009
Followed the recipe exactly. I was nervous about using vinegar, especially when I got a little whiff of it while mixing the batter. But I gotta tell ya, these pancakes were absolutely scrumptious! They rose up light and fluffy and had a delicious homemade taste that beats the pancake mix hands down. I will join the ranks who've said they will start making these instead of the boxed stuff!! Thanks for posting this!

Chocolate Chip Banana Muffins

Reviewed: Oct. 10, 2009
I've tried lots of banana bread recipes. This one has made it to my recipe box. These muffins were GONE in two days. My husband and kids (and I!) loved them. I used a full bag of mini chocolate chips. They're not too banana-y and are perfectly moist. I'm making them for the second time right now for a potluck tomorrow.

Apple Crisp II

Reviewed: Jun. 18, 2009
If your sweetness preference is like having coffee with 'regular' amount of sugar, this recipe will be too sweet for you. So many people said to leave out the water so I did. I used Granny Smith apples and let it cook 1 hr because it didnt look brown enough. The texture and flavor was wonderful! The oats really add a great crunch. Will def. make again!

Beef Tenderloin With Roasted Shallots

Reviewed: Jun. 9, 2009
I am not good at cooking meat, but I followed the directions and it turned out wonderful!! I too blended the sauce at the end to get a smooth consistency and have about 2 cups leftover. It was a little thick, I may shorten the sauce's reducing time in the future. I cooked it about 35 min. because the kids wont eat rare. It was perfectly medium. My husband LOVED it, the meat was so tender we hardly needed a knife. The only thing I didnt expect was for this cut of meat to be so expensive but its great for a special occasion. I cant wait to make it again!

To Die For Blueberry Muffins

Reviewed: Jun. 8, 2009
My son is allergic to dairy so I made exactly to recipe - just subbed plain soy milk and I Can't Believe Its Not Butter (the new sticks they make for Baking) and they are the best muffins I've ever made! Everyone loved them and had no idea they were dairy free. Batter seemed a little thick but the texture of the finished muffins was PERFECT and moist so I wouldnt add more liquid like others did.
